Is it legal to carry an expandable baton?? I live in Orange County, California. Also, does it matter if it is concealed or on a belt clip.
It is very discreet (about 7 inches closed, much longer when expanded). NOT Spring loaded. P.S. what about Handcuffs or Zip-Tie style restraints?

I am a freelancer in nyc. I have been dealing with a client for sometime. The project was slated at 700.00. I have contract for 700.00 Because of her constant changes the project is now at 1150.00 She still makes constant changes.

I have tried different ways to solve the issue but every time I do this she always has a situation that keeps me from completing the project. The project is a website. I am not sure what to do. I have given her the source files and the website is on her server. I have stopped working with her because of this. I have also offered to give her back 650.00. She has threatened to sue unless she receive full payment. i feel I have done everything I could plus offered her the money which wasn't fair. Any advice?

She also claimed that the 450.00 of changes was unauthorized checks written by a person in her company to pay.

Can she sue for more then the 1150.00? Can she claim things for more money then the 1150.00?

I was shooting a film at school using a fog machine and the fire alarm went off. However I am not positive it was the fog machine that set it off because 2 janitors ran by the room and I heard that they thought it was smoke and pulled the alarm, I am not sure though. Anyways we told a teach after all 3 thousand students where out of the school that it was probably the fog machine. Anyways we talked to the principal about it and he said he would let us off because it was an accident and a teacher knew about it plus we told a teacher it was us. Well he said that the fire department might fine the school for the alarm going off without an actually emergency and the school would make my group pay it. The principle said once a student pulled the fire alarm before as a prank and had to pay $1000 for the fire department coming. Is this legal and would I have to pay this? Any input would be helpful

I don't have all the facts on this, but it just struck me as odd. My history teacher was telling us about how a student came to her and asked for legal advice (which she couldn't give, but asked a lawyer about). Basically there was a 16 year-old boy who was out with friends one night. They told him they were going to meet someone and asked if he wanted to come along. He said no, he was tired, and went home. Later that night, those two friends were charged with manslaughter (they started assaulting a man who ran into oncoming traffic, got hit, and died). When the 16 year-old heard this he went to the police to tell them what he knew (voluntarily, without being asked). Once he did this, they arrested him for manslaughter as well. What doesn't make sense is that there are witnesses to this crime who only told police of two attackers (which were arrested later...). How can they arrest him? Also, they've been holding him since oct, and are now transferring him to a prison to

I work for a Fire and Arson investigation company in Southern California. From time to time we hold examinations of our evidence with the opposing side of our client. The people that come to examine the evidence are engineers and lawyers mostly, again for the opposing side. I have had a few people that requested the audio to be turned off for the recording, or they wouldn't continue and they state it is against the law to have audio being recorded. Is this true? If so can someone give me a reference?

Thanks in advance.

Why do they continue to air that stuff? I mean the only persons benefiting are those judges ego's. If people want to watch this stuff most small court cases are open to public, why on t.v. Shouldn't the courts be more sacred than this garbage?

This is quick version. Worked for a company, husband did too. Decided to put a lawsuit against them so they dropped his hours, and then terminated. Also, dropped my hours off although I said that I was not going to be involved in suit. Now all of a sudden my bank deposit is missing. What evidence do they need to convict me of theft. How can I prove I didn't steal the deposit? I am a nursing student and this type of thing could ruin me. I'm scared, please answer fast. Thank you
