Listen for one moment and keep your mind open. People have been legalizing bad things since the dawn of time. For example, money is the root of all evil, but we use it by bringing it under control. The same with cows, we need cows but we do not need them on our roads, so we fence the roads which is a form of control. Alcohol is a perfect example. People actually tried to regulate Alcohol at one point in our Country and made it illegal.
By making Alcohol illegal, the price of whiskey, wine and beer hit the roof because you could make the stuff and sell it for real money. This was during the Great Depression so many folks were unemployed and need a job to survive, so they signed on for processing, distributing and selling alcohol illegally.
It got completely out of control so badly that the people demanded that it strike the illegal amendment from the Constitution and made it legal again. The Country and it's laws then brought alcohol under control again.
The same is true with drugs, weed is the subject here. It you legalize the drug and make it available under controlled conditions, you would save more people from very bad experiences under regulations than you can by trying to maintain a system that does not work.
Someday, America will understand the benefit of legalizing some of the more common drugs.

The reason to legalize weed would be:
1. The overcrowding of prisons
2. The deaths caused by the trafficing of it.
3. The expense of trying to enforce the law.
4. People smoke pot anyway. Making it illegal has stopped no one.

Actually, one of my family members who suffers alot from multiple sclerosis benefits greatly from weed.
Its the only thing that has stopped the pain in her feet and legs, and yes, she tried many different types of pain pills and shots before trying weed.
She uses a marijuana vaporizer which actually limits the harmful effects of the smoke.
Not making weed legal means you support overcrowding prisons over something that has the same efect on most people as alcohol.
This is why it should be legal :D

Go to www.leap.cc Law Enforcemant against Prohibition. A community of police and law officials who believe in the legalization of marijuana for all the right reasons, besides "getting high". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the good it would do for our great nation.

well i must say for myself weed is my "after" work relaxation. instead of drinking alcohol to relax after a stress full day i smoke weed. weed has never jeopardized my job, paying my bills ect. im sorry if you dont understand this, but i have never heard of anyone who smokes pot not be able to function in society. weed is beautiful.AND BOTTOM LINE IS PROBABLY A LLLLLOOOOOOTTTTTT MORE PEOPLE DIE AND KILL OTHERS FROM ALCOHOL THAN POT!

Being illegal,it devalues human life.If your in the way of a mule getting his $100,000 delivery fee, guess what your dead.
Are you going to use if it is legal, probably not.
Its proved way less destructive then alcohol, when you O.D. you go to sleep.
Added burden to the over burdened system. The reason it was outlawed was against blacks and Mexicans.

Have you ever seen any good from alcohol or alcoholics?

I didn't think so. Yet it's legal. What's the difference?

P.S. I have never smoked "weed" in my lifetime.

Weed isn't good, lots of things aren't good. However we now know that it's not bad ENOUGH to justify sending people to jail over.
