Here are the details:

My husbands kids agreed that they would do a summer job they had done two years ago if they couldn't find another one before summer. I filled out the applications online for the kids. There were no signature spaces on the form, no social security numbers on the form. Their mother called tonight and said she had filed 6 counts of felony fraud and identity theft against me because I put her name on the job application and filled them out for the kids. The only line with her name on it was the one asking the name of legal guardian and I put my husband's name and her name in the same space - it was not a signature space.

Can she really have these charges filed or is she just being malacious? Don't fraud charges need to be brought against me through the Prosecutor's office?

I am calling an attorney tomorrow but I thought I would see if I could get some feedback tonight - maybe direction to legal code that I could read up on this.

Thank you!

BestBuy owes me $127.79 and I can prove they owe me the money, what can I do?

I purchased a service plan for my laptop. My laptop needed a new battery. They can’t get the correct battery. Following BestBuy’s instructions I bought a new battery directly from HP, and faxed in the appropriate information to them for reimbursement. I was told I would have a check with in three weeks.

We are going on week 6 now, and every time I call they tell me they don't know if that department got my fax, or even if it is being worked on. I'm told the reimbursement department is separate and they do not take phone calls, and I can not talk to them.

-I have documentation for everything, I have when I called, and what I was told, but I don’t have all the names of who I spoke to.
-I am still in possession of their incorrect replacement, and will not send their battery back until I have a check.

I live in part of a city where the homes are 90 plus years old. Most of the homeowners take care of their properties in my area with exemption of a few. The few who dont are mostly renters. Every Tuesday we have to put our garbage carts on the alley line, and every other Tuesday we have to put our recycling carts on the alley line next to the garbage cart for pick up. These so called renters usually dont put the garbage cart or the recycling cart out by the alley line every Tuesday. They usually just let the garbage pile up, and overflow. At times the alley looks like an absolute junkyard with garbage bags, and empty boxes laying in the alley. A few years ago, the city did property condition evaluations throughout the city. Some of the homeowners were disgruntled, but after awile i liked the idea. Since i keep our property maintained i would like to see others do the same. It makes abcentee landlords wake up. Should i call my alderman about the garbage problems?

Ok so I lost alot of weight and did it really fast, pretty much unhealthy way practically starving myself. But now I lost close to 100 lbs and left with alot of loose skin. I am working out for 4 hours at a time at the gym. 2 mile run and different weights abs, arms, etc... So i still have alot of loose skin and flab all over and have no idea how to get rid of it.

I'm now eating right and excercising and doing it the right way so how can i get rid of all that loose skin fast is there a cream of some sort? I dont ent to resort to surgery. If you suggest just continuing my workout how long would it take to loose it all?
any suggestions will be appreciated.

I don't care if she is or isn't pregnant. I know its not mine for a million reasons, so please don't ask me how I'm "sure" I am, my question has to do with legal stuff. If she emails me saying I knocked her up and is giving it up for adoption, do I have to even respond to her? Can this crazy chick say I am the "daddy" when she signs adoption papers without proof. Ty for answers.

15? like a college party and some girls that age sneak in and you know people are getting laid..its got the feel to me of smoking weed..its technically against the law but you KNOW alot of people are doing it anyway. Now, I see something wrong with like closer to 30 or 30 on up getting with teenage girls but I feel like the first mentioned behavior is much more common than people would like to admit, and I know alot of guys see nothing wrong with it. sex is sex and its meant to be fun as long as you protect yourself . Not emotionally ready? who's the judge on that? who tells who who's ready for what? I know plenty of girls and guys in their 20s who are not emotionally mature, sex brings the possibility of emotional pain NO MATTER WHAT AGE. Older men and little girls is messed up, but girls goin out having sex anyway and younger guys who have barely started their adult lives doesn't seem as bad to me, if its so common doesn't it mean its natural? like smokin weed, why is it illegal?

In case you do not know, Dakota Fanning who was 12 at the time, starred in a movie titled Houndog. In the movie she tries to act older than what she is with bad results.

She performs a strip-tease for some older guys and later on is graphically raped by one of them. She is not shown nude and obviously she wasn't really raped.

Certain groups are asking the US Attorney General to bring federal child pornography charges against the makers of the movie (actually anyone involved in the movie which could include the other actors, camera people, and so forth).

Do you feel that such charges are justified or is this movie protected under the First Amendment?

In our homeowners association, there are elections coming up. And both a husband and wife are on the ballots. Is this legal? I called the property management says they checked and it is, but I thought only 1 per household, or that the owners would be the individual whose home is on the deed and only that person.

I’m an US citizen, my mother is not and lives overseas. I just had a baby and invited my mother to visit us but the consul denied her visa request stating that she is a potential immigrant and does not have strong ties in her country (the usual excuse for denial). But she does have ties and does not want to live in the states. I e-mailed him a few times explaining the situation and he said the same thing that she is a potential immigrant and that’s it. How can I appeal his decision or sue him? This is becoming personal because he refused it twice even after I explained everything and swore that she would be back. Any ideas?

NOTICE FROM FEDERAL COURT. PLEASE READ.

You may be eligible to receive a benefit from a class-action settlement if you purchased and paid for a credit score or credit monitoring from ConsumerInfo.com or an Experian Entity between June 17, 1998 and December 27, 2006.

A federal court has directed that this notice be sent to inform you of a proposed class-action settlement. Records show that you entered into an agreement over the Internet with ConsumerInfo.com or an Experian Entity to purchase any Credit Check or Credit Check Monitoring (which were formerly known as CreditCheck® Monitoring Service), Credit Manager (including Yahoo! Credit Manager), Triple Alert, or Triple Advantage credit-monitoring product, or you paid for a credit score sold on a website that also sold one of these credit-monitoring products, between June 17, 1998 and December 27, 2006. If so, you may be eligible to receive a benefit under the proposed settlement.

The settlement will resolve a lawsuit over whether Defendants violated the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act or are liable for claims where the stated basis is about improvement of a consumer's credit record, history, or rating. Under the settlement, Defendants deny that they are liable, but have agreed not to make certain statements on particular websites and to provide all Settlement Class Members with the opportunity to obtain their choice of a settlement benefit: either (i) a credit score or (ii) 60 days of credit monitoring, as described below and on the settlement website. To see if you are a Class Member and to obtain full notice of the proposed Settlement, the required procedures, the Effective Date, the deadlines, your obligations, and your options, you must visit www.browningsettlement.com. This email is only a brief summary of the full notice that is posted on the website.

If you are an eligible Settlement Class Member, you have rights, obligations, and options under the proposed settlement. You have until May 15, 2007 to make your decision. Your legal rights are affected whether you act or not.

1. Submit A Registration Form Online Or By Mail

This is the only way to get a settlement benefit of either a credit score or 60 days of credit monitoring. You will choose your benefit, and you must keep all of your registration information updated. If you choose credit monitoring, and you don't cancel your credit-monitoring membership after using your code to obtain the credit monitoring benefit but prior to the expiration of the 60 day, settlement benefit period, you will be billed at the then-applicable rate, which is currently $9.95, for each month that you continue your membership. Beginning on the Effective Date of the settlement, you will be able to register online or by mail. If you register online, your registration must be completed no later than sixty (60) days after the Effective Date, and submitted online by midnight Pacific Time. If you register by mail, your registration must be mailed and postmarked on or before sixty (60) days after the Effective Date. For more information on these deadlines, the Effective Date of the settlement, the registration procedures, and the settlement benefit, you must visit www.browningsettlement.com. Do not contact the Court.

2. Exclude Yourself

This is the only option that allows you to ever be part of any other lawsuit about the claims in this case. You will not be eligible for a settlement benefit. Your request for exclusion must be mailed and postmarked on or before May 15, 2007. Any request for exclusion must be mailed to the Browning Settlement Administrator. Do not contact the Court.

3. Object

Write to the Browning Settlement Administrator in order to tell the Court about why you don't like the settlement. Your objection must be mailed and postmarked on or before May 15, 2007. Do not contact the Court.

4. Go to a Hearing

Write to the Browning Settlement Administrator to ask to speak in Court about the fairness of the settlement. Your request to speak at the hearing must be mailed and postmarked on or before May 15, 2007. The final fairness hearing is set for July 31, 2007, at which time the Court will consider whether to finally approve the settlement and a request by the lawyers representing all Class Members for no more than $2,550,000 in attorney's fees and costs.

5. Do Nothing

You will automatically be included in the Settlement Class and give up your right to be part of any other lawsuit about the claims in this case, but you will not be eligible to receive a settlement benefit unless you submit a registration form.

To get complete information about the proposed settlement, the required procedures, the Effective Date, the deadlines, your obligations, and your options, you must visit www.browningsettlement.com. Do not contact the Court.

Please do not reply to this message. We are unable to respond to inquiries sent in reply to this email. To contact us, please access the official settlement website at www.browningsettlement.com.
