I use to work in the court of Los angeles in the small claims court and yes you are able to file trough mail. Once they receive the plaintiffs claim they will mail you back a copy of the computer generated form with the date of the court hearing. Every court have different procedure on this matter, so I recommend for you to call that court and ask the small claims court if you can file by mail. Also to know what court to file, remember that it needs to be where the defendant resides, where the contract was signed or where the transaction took place or where the accident took place and more. Every state (if I remember) will have a phone free small claims advisor hotline where you can call and ask for advise on these matters. Your local court will have this information. I hope my information helped a little.

:)

It would probably be to your advantage to take it in personally. That way if you overlooked something on the request or it needs to be clarified they can tell you then and there instead of passing it back and forth through the mail.

Park a few blocks away and take the bus.

I would take it down, and make sure to get a Receipt! You always want to cover your rear.
