He is 68 and slipped and was knocked out when he hit his head off of the curb. He broke his arm so severely, he is getting it operated on tomorrow to have a plate put in. I told my mom that they should contact an attorney to see if the municipality holds some fault since the street was not cleared of snow...what do you think?

I ordered satellite service from a major satellite company. The installer arrived along with two of his friends that came along to help him as I found out after the fact. One of the men was hurt when my deck collapsed with two of them on it. I called for an ambulance and when they arrived the man refused treatment saying he was ok and walked around for a while. Now I am being asked to pay for very high medical treatment and I need to know if I am liable for the injury or should the installer be responsible or the satellite company the installer worked for?I ordered satellite and now it is going to cost me a fortune for having done so. Any knowledge on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'm all for free speech, but when a person says they are a High School English Teacher, do they have the right to openly speak out in defense of a convicted sex offender to their students & to others? Should these types of teachers have mental health evaluations? As a parent & a former victim of abuse, I am interested to hear how others think regarding this very serious subject.

(this is very stupid of me to have done, I know that, so please PLEASE no smarta** answers...) Well last year one time, I tried marijuana w/ a few friends...I have sports induced asthma and I've never had an asthma attack before, but that night I had just come back from a run and then took a few hits of marijuana..well it made me have a panic attack and I felt like I couldn't breathe, so after like 20min of this crazy attack my roomie called 911 for me, and i went in an ambulance to the emergency room. The med tech people all knew it was for smoking marijuana, and I ended up being fine, but my question is...will that episode ever show up on a background check? I remember everything that happened and I never had to make a statement of any sort, I never talked to any police or anything...

I got an MIP when I was 17...I did all the required alcohol education and probation and PO meetings, and was under this program called Youth Training assistance or something, I don't remember...but because I was under 18 and did not mess up my probation, they took it off my record and said it would only show up for government related jobs. Something like that, I don't quite remember because my dad dealt with the lawfulness of it. Well...I'm 20 now and wanting to apply to medical school in the next few years...they do a criminal background check and all to see if you have any felonies, dui's, mip's, etc...Will that one show up, or do I have a "clean Record"? I'm so confused...I haven't had any other mips or anything of that sort since then...but will it affect my chances now of getting into med school?

OK. I just asked this but some wisecrack idiots did some distorting of my question.

My girlfriend is 17. I am 18. We are going to get an Apartment together in August. Her parent is prepared to sign any papers needed. When we get the apartment, I'll be 19 but she'll still be 17 for a few months. Instead of just waiting for the few months, we figured it would be most convenient so that she doesn't have to transfer schools midyear.

My question is what papers will her parent need to sign so that she can legally live there.

I live in California and was fired due to being late to work often because my kids were sick often. I was approved for unemployment but my former employer appealed it. I went to the appeal today and it was a nightmare. Everthing that could go wrong did. I delivered a lousy testimony to the judge because I had my kids with me and I couldnt concentrate. On top of it all I was late because my daughter was sick. I didnt even bother explaining. Anyway, my former employer said that I quit but finally admitted that I was terminated. If I am denied I would have to pay back some of the money I have collected. I dont know when the judges written decision will be mailed and I'll be going crazy until it arrives. Does it sound like I have a chance or does it sound like I will be denied?
