In a society where there were very few men, polygamy could actually be a good thing for women, because they would be able to live in a stable relationship (in most polygamous societies, the husband is expected to provide food, clothing and shelter for all his wives--hence the idea of multiple wives denoting wealth) as opposed to surviving by begging or becoming a prostitute. But having said that, there is often much anger and envy among the wives, and a constant competition for the husband's attention. (I'm not sure, by the way, if this also holds for the multiple husbands in a polyandrous union.) It is far wiser for each man to have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

"Polygamy", by definition (i.e., the condition of having more than one SPOUSE at a time), is NOT discriminatory to any gender. That said, this is NOT what certain groups in the U.S. (primarily of Mormons origin) practice.
Rather, they practice "polygyny" - i.e., the condition of having more than one WIFE at a time. I would say that IS discriminatory.
By the way, although your average Mormon will tell you that they do not PRACTICE polygyny anymore, and most do not. However, polygyny is STILL remains a ESSENTIAL BELIEF of the Mormon religion, and the official take of current Mormon theology is that the Mormons are simply waiting for the rest of the world to catch up to their progressive beliefs. They encourage their fellow Momons to take an active role in the government (local and national) to make this happen.
That said, do you still want to vote Mitt Romney for President?

No. It's their choice to do what they want with their bodies. If they want to be married to a man along with other women, who cares. Where's all the pro choice people? Isn't this about choice? Don't let the government tell women what they can do with their bodies!

Women who are polygamists are low self esteem suffering women. They are pathetic and are the ones to blame not the man, at the end of the day it is up to her to say no.
