In case of Marshall law the constitution is void but that in its self is unconstitutional. So basically the government has been doing what it wants to since the civil war and if you want to get deep into the matter the constitution doesn't mean anything to the people in power. Its there more for false hopes to the people that think they live in freedom.

Our military should already know that. There was a time when school children were actually taught the Constitution in our government run public school system, and the average American actually knew what it said. Unfortunately there is no time to teach kids about the Constitution, as they are being brainwashed with socialist garbage and moral relativism. That's why the average college graduate cannot read a newspaper article and write a two paragraph summary of that article, as they are too busy learning how evil America, capitalism and religion are, and how wonderful socialism and gay rights are. Too bad they don't teach children anything important anymore, as then we might have informed, intelligent people running our government.

A really scary aspect is that bush has been contracting out martial duties to private firms - that's where a lot of the torture came from in Abu Graihb. In addition, these private guns have patrolled the streets of New Orleans. No accountabilty, no constitutional protections. It's downright terrifying. And remember, there is no habeus corpus anymore.

And the reason the schools don't teach civics anymore is not because of liberals. That's purely conservative doing, as they hated how they were creating activist citizens. Plus, they wanted to test test test everyone.
