It depends on the jurisdicition of the police, some police jurisdictions have a policy that does not allow the questioning of minors without the parents being present. typicially that would be the norm. although they can question the minor in question as long as they have given the miranda rights to the minor and the minor understands them. It really depends on what the policy and the jurisdiction of that precient is though, if the parent is needed to be there for the questioning of a minor. I hope that this helps.

Sure, it's legal to question--- Esp. if your a witness or they need a statement. Some states require that a school official be present. You can legally be detained for 72 hours without charges being filed

Yes...but the kid can also request a parent before questioning.
If there was a crime and he was a suspect or a witness they can ask all they want to determine what happened....without parental consent.

Depends upon whether they questioned you on the street or took you into the station for questioning. If they took you in it is totally illegal.

yes. they can question you on the street if you are doing something wrong.
but if you are being charged with a crime no they can't. thats illegal.
