In other words can a Right be converted into a privilege by passing codes that are not specifically granted by the Constitution? If the government does this, what is your recourse? Do you have to obey it until it is overturned?

If abortion should be allowed (even where the fetus is capable of surviving outside the womb) because "these babies won't be wanted anyway," and "pro-lifers aren't willing to take care of them personally or pay for them," then what other groups of human beings are you willing to apply this logic to? The mentally ill? The disabled? Terminal patients? The elderly? Prisoners? The homeless? the poor?

Can I say "let me kill my Grandpa unless YOU take him in, because no one wants him?"

Finally, how would you vote on a bill (introduced in Congress in the past few years) mandating that a baby that survives an abortion is entitled to medical care? (Did you know that Barak Obama voted "no" on a similar bill?)

Allmost all chocolate is made with partly cacao from Ivory Coast, where slavery is used to produce the cacao. When those slaves try to escape, they are murdered.
Although Côte d'Ivoire only produces 40% of world cacao, the big chocolate companies use that cacao mixed with other cacao.

If abortion is not only immoral but also is murder should be illegal (even where the fetis is not capable of living outside the womb), what should the penalites be? For the doctor? More to the point, for the woman? Jail time?

Also, what measures would you take to prevent a woman from having an abortion? If a woman says she will cross state lines (or leave the country) to have an abortion, do you prevent her from going? if a woman says she will get one somewhere, somehow, no matter what, do the police lock her up to prevent it?

Yes or now, why or why not? Please explain your answers.

For £106k my GP opens a maximum of 16 hrs/wk, refuses home visits, is often at home with spouse & family in Malaysia.

Is this the reason he has an 8wk waiting list?

I attended a & e with a serious virus infection last wk only to receive verbal abuse from the duty Quack, I waited 90min for the pleasure.

She beleives I should visit my own gp, but then I wonder if they receive trade discount on private treatment.

If I were paying £65 for him to sign my driving licence it would be done same day.

Why?

I'm not asking if you think it's the right thing to do and I'm not saying you should go burn a flag.
But do you think it should be a protected right?

My thoughts: Flag burning is an expression that is protected by our right to free speech. The fairness doctrine is a useful tool because these days there are so many talk show hosts who tout themselves as reporting the news, and their are many people out there that believe whatever they say. It's nothing more than propaganda. And isn't that what middle eastern "news organizations" do? They should not be allowed to slander organizations and people without giving those people a chance to defend themselves. Now if Bill O'Rilley and Rush Limbaugh want to spout off at the mouth...that's fine....but they shouldn't be allowed to call it "news".

Today I heard on the news that a state in the US is banning smoking in vehicles when there is a minor (under 18) in the car. I think this is great! I heard that people are opposed to it saying it infringes on basic human rights. What about the rights of the children, many of whom cannot even speak? Don't get me wrong and think I am picking on the smoker's either, cause I smoke. But, I think a law like this has been a long time coming. What do you think???

Someone took our company to small claims court, we showed up, they didn't, and the case was dismissed. I'd like to be prepared for what could happen now. Anyone know what course of action they can take?

For those of you too "click weary" I'll post the first paragraph here to give you an idea of what this is about:

"Canadian children are being exposed to far too much violence in music lyrics, video games and on television and need to be protected by laws similar to those that restrict the sale of tobacco to minors, a coalition of teachers and parents said Wednesday."

I work for a guy who's wife adds up the hours we clock in for. I can clock in from 10:47 a.m. until 2:13 p.m. and she figures my hours as being from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., so I lose 26 minutes of pay. Which their time clock isn't even on right time. I can go to work and clock in at 10:41 on my cell phone, 10:41 according to the clock at work, and the time clock will say it's 11:46. I also write down the exact time I clock in and out every day. Last year I lost about 60 hours, I've lost more than 5 already this year. She keeps claiming that it is legal for her to round to the quarter hour she choses and has called me a liar and told me I have no clue what I am talking about. I got so mad about it that I actually got in a screaming match with her and walked out and quit for about six months. But I went back because I've known him for years and other than the fact that I get screwed on hours I love my job. I just want a way to prove I'm right so I get paid right.

An unpaid child support judgment, rendered in favor of the first wife, or a later judgment in favor of the second wife? The second wife was still legally married to the defendant, although there was a separation agreement. The defendant is now deceased. Which might hold more weight, the order (age) of the judgments, or the marital status of each plaintiff? The estate is not large enough to honor/pay either of the judgments in full. Would one preclude the other, or would the court look to apportion an amount to each judgment?

Someone please tell me I am dreaming, 2 US border guards were sentence to 10 years in prison for what? Shooting a illegal in the buttocks who pulled a gun on them and tried to smuggle 80lbs of marijuana into the US.

The Us attorney general got the illegal to come back and testify after granting immunity from prosecution. As we as a nation gone mad. I would like to hear from conservative and republicans on their view of this event is this a sign of where our nation is heading.
As for liberal democrats it is going to be difficult to respond because your side as already indicated that the would like to grant US citizenship to all of Mexico.

Two stores on a street...all things equal and right next to each other...same size, parking, etc.

Each store's rent is $1000 per month with a one year lease. After a year the first store is doing fantastic. The second store is not doing well but survives.

The landlord surmizes that the first store is doing 3x better than the second and decides it will be $3000 for the first store to renew the least and $900 for the second store.

Is this usury?

What is the difference whether it's charging a fee for a loan (the use of money) or charging a fee for a retail location (the use of a physical space)?

I have been a trainee at a recruitment agency for three months and instead of hiring me permanently, as it was the original plan, they have to let me go due to strong financial difficulties. They have always refused to get a heater to our office during winter and I heard that I constantly 'complained' about getting a heater. So, I didn't get a heater for two cold winter months. Also, people smoke just behind a window next to my desk and even though I have asked them to go further away, one particular supervisor ignores my wishes and continues to smoke near my window. As a third point, I am 4 1/2 months pregnant, which I know they have acknowledged but haven't mentioned to me personally. I haven't told them myself as it is not yet a legal obligation.I feel more ignorance towards my wishes and rights. Do you think I have been discriminated because of my pregnancy and wishes to have a warm non-smoking work environment? Would anyone have any legal knowledge? Does a trainee have rights?
