What aspect of serving country have you been engaged in?
You know all the jingos by heart and all the dogmas by heart and while they say talk is cheap many cheapen it further by not finding out if the jingos and dogmas are true?
If I expect a man to kill and live in protecting my country then I damn well want him to be able to come home and have a country he can be more proud of over and above just the glorification of military actions.

I was working for a doctor who does some things are considered "illegal" in the scope of the state medical board (I am now in a new job). I don't want his patients to get hurt...should I submit an anonymous letter informing the board of these practices so they can investigate it or just drop it? It is really bothering me.

Basically I hired a lawyer to sue a contractor that was working on my house. We agreed on a fixed fee of $6500 to take the contractor to trial. Before I gave him the money he was very friendly and returned all my phone calls and emails immediately. After I gave him the money, he stopped returning my phone calls and email. And after I asked him to contact me to discuss what is going on with my case, he send me an email telling me that he will only contact me when he feels is necessary. And If want him to contact me to let me know what is going on with my case, then I would need to pay him more or we can cancel the whole thing and he will give me the refund, if there is any money left. What can I do now?

Here's the deal: The public school (K-8) has a culdesac road used by parents to pick up/drop off their children. There is no more than 10 yards between the drop-off point and the nearest classroom. An activist positions himself, family, and friends so that avoiding him is not an option. He is between the classroom door and the car door. He and his co-activists (family and friends) approach and confront children and their parents with their message. Generally, this message is that public school is bad (his kids are home-schooled,) AND the public school curriculum does not accurately reflect the threat the US faces from the Muslim invaders coming to this country.

Personally, I think he should be allowed to say whatever crazy thing he wants, but this should be done in a manner that does not make minors his captive audience. Is this consistent with a belief in free speech?

Honestly - he's leafletting kindergarteners with anti-Islam propoganda.

I called a wrong number today. The dude on the other end was a total asshole, he was like "Don't ever call me again!" and "Who do you think you are?" right up front. All I said was "Is this Brian?". So I called him a dick and then hung up the phone. A little while later he calls my phone a leaves a message saying how he called the cops and if I ever call him again he'll press charges. Can you do that?

Today (19th Jan 2007) A person online who I didn't know told me I had a name which could mean that I could get part of somebodys will. I didn't know the person who died, I just shared a surname with him, and allmost definatly wasn't related 2 him. The person who claimed 2 work for "Omega chambers" was asking me 4 some information, I suspected I was being set up for fraud. The info he asked me 2 provide was :
My full name
My address
My marital status
My telephone number

He didn't ask me 4 any bank account details.
Is it possible 4 people 2 steal from U with just these few pieces of information?
The e-mail he left me was : barr_evanasoso@excite.com
Have others been contacted with similar storys? was I right not 2 give him my name and address, etc.
The story he used wasn't very believable, he claimed a rich person with no living relatives had died in a car crash, and he needed somebody who had the same surname 2 try 2 claim the will.
Whats the minimum info required for fraud?

My fingerprints were taken as a stalker victim, with several damaged properties of mine. I know they wanted to know if I was doing it to myself for attention (good lord). Anyways, are my finger prints always and forever on file now? Do I have to worry about what my hands touch incase of a later crime scene??

A Muslim electronics engineer who developed five patents for IBM claims the computer maker fired him because of his religion and that managers at the company mocked him for refusing to eat during the Ramadan fast and once told him to ignore Islamic law and clean a knife that had been used to cut pork.
Mahmoud Mousa, who calls himself a "Jordanian Muslim American," was employed at IBM's microelectronics plant in Burlington, Vt., from June 2003 to December 2005, when he was fired because of his religious beliefs, according to a lawsuit Mousa filed last month in U.S. District Court in New York.

I know a young mom who wrote a check to Walmart because she expected certain funds to be deposited before they cashed the check. The funds were late arriving, so her check was returned for insufficient funds. The other store she went to, Mervyns, re-cashed the check she wrote there and it went through. Wal-mart didn't even try to re-cash the check, filed a criminal charge, and now the lady has to pay double, attend a Saturday morning class (and she has four children-same father-without weekend childcare), and her husband is out of work due to having been accused of a crime he didn't commit, and has been removed from the home by CPS rules. This is the first time she has had this problem. She won't have the amount the DA wants until after the first of the month...which is after her deadline.
