What a freak!!! I think the cop would just laugh at him and tell him to calm down.

You are insane to not report a theft of that degree in the first place. It depends on the so-called contract. It could be seen as a contract between you, which her lawyer could argue..but I doubt it. It doesn't even sound like she would bother or could afford to get a lawyer. You need to write WHERE you live, and what exactly the paper said, who signed it etc. Because some states even have verbally binding agreements (although I have no idea how they argue it in court since there's no proof) Just ignore her until the 27th, don't press it, don't remind her, and avoid her if need be. Always be out and shut off your phone - then when the 27th comes you can get her properly like you should have done in the first place. If you mean morally wrong, no. It is not wrong to do so. You were trying to be nice I suppose, but you have rightly saw that being nice to criminals is over-rated and gets you nowhere and gives you nothing except more stress and them more freedom. I don't know why you gave her so long to pay. But just wait it out and see what happens. You could at least try. There's no harm in trying. The worst that could happen is you get officially told no.

First of all, don't call him back. If you keep calling him, it gives him a better case against you. I would just ignore it, and if the police call you, just explain it was a wrong number. You weren't stalking him, so there is no problem. The police can look at his phone records and see that you only called him once. There shouldn't be a problem.

LOL. No, that's absurd. Can you imagine what the cops said to this (assuming he really called.)
What a douche bag. if you still have his number, you should call him now and again from various pay phones to piss him off. Ok, maybe that's just my 14 year old inner child talking.

Oh for pete's sake -- that man needs to get laid! Can he call the cops - sure.......are you going to get charged with making one wrong phone call - no. That is not harassment that is a boo-boo. AND might I point out that after you recognized you error you did not call him back - he called you therefore he is obviously not in fear of you and in fact was harassing you at that point.

He would have to lie to make a case against you. You should however control your language and just say sorry and hang up. Why give a person a reason to call the police?

I think that the police will not take that case, however, I wouldn't call back, he could have a trap on his phone listing out who calls his number.

One wrong number would not give him a case.
Try not to call him again.
It's best not to call people names even if you have been provoked. They may get upset.
Did you ever get to talk to Brian? What was his advice on this matter?

nah, he has no legal basis for his argument. if you were to repeatedly call him and tell him he's a dick, then he could do u for harrassment. but for a mistaken one off, no.
to be honest, i bet you he wanted the police to go round right then, but they said no, and thats why he was like 'if you ever call AGAIN' because he knows he hasn't got a leg to stand on.
