Not freedom, but power comes from money. Some commodity is always going to be top commodity when it comes to power, something will always be used to get leverage in situations. You might call it unfair, but most people do work for their money and are entitled to reaping the benefits of it. I have issues with lots of people that are born into wealth because they don't respect the opportunities it brings.

Freedom is what we have bought and paid for over the years in blood. Money itself cant buy Freedom. It can buy good lawyers, doctors and material things, but not freedom.

Many third world countries are held down not because of money, but lack of education and a belief that their government is the only show in town. Its the old adage, " if you dont know what true freedom is, how can you fight for it or even know you want it?"

As far as attorneys go, well, the courts have to appoint one if you cant afford it and yes, many of them are pretty decent people. If its a capital offense, the courts make sure that your attorney is no rookie and has defended death penalty cases before. Besides, the liberals will group up in your corner to protect your rights over the rights of your victims most of the time.

I cannot afford an attorney unless they're free(fees collected after winning a case). True freedom, to answer the other part of the question, is by finding happiness within yourself. Not needing anyone else except through spirit. Money is a factor that makes most feel the feeling of freedom but it is only fool's gold. Because I live in AMERICA I know how it feels when money comes into my hands...I too feel FREEDOM but it is again; NOT the true meaning of FREEDOM!

It is very true and those who say that love, respect etc. is more important and that it leads you to bigger freedom are just sad. With money, you can buy yourself out of a job, so to speak. If you don't have to work, you've got more freedom than a person like me, who has to work. I'm not saying I wouldn't work if I was that rich, but I would have a choice whether I want to work or I don't. That choice is powerful and can be very free. I would work doing something different and when I'm fed up I can stop it or hire somebody to do it for me, while I'm galavanting off to the other side of the world for a little 3-month holiday. That's freedom. When you can buy your way out of a sticky situation, something that I would have to endure because I can't afford to, especially in a court case like you said. But then, it's true for medical treatments too.

Interesting, but in the UK, if you have no money and need legal representation, the LSC (Legal Services Commission) provide a huge amount of money each year to people of low income in need of legal support, people are not given half rate solicitors either, they are some of the best)

Money, it can give you the freedom to do the majority of things. But I prefer to be happy and earn less, rather than earning a sick wage but being bored. So yes, it can buy you things, maybe even give you all the freedom you need, but it's getting a happy medium in life.

I think money gives you both choice and responsibilities..With choice comes freedom..I'm on the verge of having enough money to dod what I want to do but I've had to give a lot of myself to get to this stage. So yes I will have my freedom very soon and that is because of money!

who ever said freedom was a part of society.

THE BEST FREEDOM I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED WAS WITH NO MONEY AT ALL.

In fact when you can go to nature and do what you want without any money or any one else involved. THEN YOU WILL HAVE A TASTE OF REAL FREEDOM.

People with a lot of money they are slaves to it. No matter how you put it.

There are 2 "classes" of people that are easy to oppress. The poor and the uneducated.
If the news about the Chinese economy is true, democracy there is not far away.

I see what you are saying, and understand your thinking to a certain extent...... but by thinking that way you end up putting yourself into the trap of thinking that it is only money that matters. Millionaires have been jailed!
