I'm tired of blacks blaming "Whitey" for their problems. Maybe it is themselves keeping each other down, haven't you noticed that when a black person does good in life, he is seen as a sellout to other blacks. Also if a black person doesn't act or dress like the others, he is looked down at, do they lack self responsibility, and rather blame others?

I want to sell books through my business. Most of the books Im referring to are religious and philosophical works that are not even attributed to anyone in particular and are also very old. What would the laws stance be if I wanted to manufacture and sell them? Someone said that I just have to offer my own translation or interpretation for it to be legal. Another said that theyre public domain and I can do what I want. Whats the actual legal stance?

My brother is in jail now for grand theft exceeding $500. he works for home depot and they called him in on saturday which was his day off to cover for someone else's lunch break. Thing is- the inventory is really low in the section he works in (tool rental) and the store is accusing him of lettin customers walk away with unpaid merchandise. They are assuming that the customer and my brother have an agreement to do this in exchange for money to my brother. They called him into loss prevention and asked him alot of questions about what they though had been going on and called the cops and cuffed him. Can they do this? lets assume my brother did let other people go with unpaid mechandize because he's too lazy to call security or he did call security and people still got away- what's the worse they can do to him in court? i think that the grand theft charge was too big of charge to impose on him since he wasn't the one that stole anything. What do you guys think? the court is -

Hypothetical situation. A black magician casts a spell on his victim with the intention of killing hime. The victims family find out about this and are obviously angry and want justice. Would there be anything she could do about it via the court legal system? I mean, would the law actually recognise black magic and consider it as a weapon or whatever?

My girlfirend and I have just bought a flat in the south of London and its a complete fixer-upper. We are a young couple and have had to buy a place in need of lots of attention in order to get on the ladder. The place is comletely gutted and we're starting from scratch and undertaking most the work ourselves as we can't afford to get people in. We work during the week so the weekends are the only opportunity to do DIY never starting before 10am and finishing by about 5pm; however, one of my neighbours is not best pleased and the relationship is slowly breaking down. She feels its unreasonable for us to work at the weekends while she relaxes, we have been living out of one room for the past 6 months and I can't see anyway around it but to continue and ignore my neighbours calls to stop. At the same time I fear I am seeing the issue from only my side of the table. Am i in the wrong morally as well as legally?

I'm trying to sue my former roomate and found out that he has moved to Arizona. I was told that the judge might dismiss the case if he requests it because I'm suing him and the papers have the current address in Arizona. I was told to serve him in Arizona but with his address he had when he was living with me. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Thanks!

We have had the belongings since Nov. 13, 2005 and there has been many emails, phone calls, and contacting family. We even contacted her mom and her mom came and picked up some things that wasn't runt by mice. Her mom has even tried to contact her. She lives in Illinois and we had to drive there to get our car back, but she refuses to come and pick up her stuff, nor has she called back any return calls or messages since 2005. I don't know if there is a difference between our KY law and her Illinois law or if the two states make a differnce. Since her belongings are here, do we go by KY law?

Under 10 Grams of marajuana (3.5) and smoking a joint with two minors (that's what they wrote on their statements).

I am being charged with possession of under 10 grams and a felony of distributing to minors... smoking a joint would be considered "contributing to the dilenquency" would it not?

I am somewhat baffled at the idea of freedom of speech within our once great country (The United Kingdom), how can we possibly have the same freedom of speech that our older generations fought so valiantly for if we are constantly having new laws banning us from saying things that could be mis-construed as offensive towards a certain minority (be it race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, just to name a few). All be it only one persons view but surely political correctness has now over-stepped the mark and has turned a once free country (quite deviously) into a dictatorship. But where should we draw the line between our civil rights and the next mans', as if you were to allow complete freedom of speech, then somewhere along the lines, someone's civil liberties will be affected as they will be offended by what the next man has to say, but surely if you don't allow that next man to speak about his point of view you are encroaching on his civil rights

I had a situation where a girl tried a backflip and knocked the wind out of herself. We took her to a hospital and found out that she was a daughter of a friend. However, the police filed a report and took it to the step dad and told him that they had a good case against us. They were basically encouraging a lawsuit. Thankfulyl the girl left with an hour of being there and was told she was fine. However, I am really upset that the police told their friend to sue me. I thought that police could not give legal advice. Can anyone help me clear this issue up?

In SOUTH AFRICA, you find orphans kids living on street, looking for a food in bins, homeless, which is very assame to me because government seems to have nothing to do about it. I wish I could build a huge orphan centres in different rigions where they can receive a full living support and learning as well.I believe these are the things that causes crime. I need more ideas and advises about this matter because I don't afford anything for now but hope to do some thing in future.

file a mechanic's lien against your property, which if not resolved can result in foreclosure of your property. This powerful enforcement device is written into the constitution of most state goverments meaning that attempts to remove language from a home improvements contract about the right to a mechanic's lien would be unconstitutional in that state. I can't think of any other businesses afforded this kind of protection. Yet from a daily scan of news reports no industry seems to be as replete with crooks, hacks, charlatans and scam artists as the home improvements contractors. Do you feel that it is time to remove the mechanic lien's provisions prevalent in most state constitutions?

I don't think that for something small, like a traffic ticket, fingerprinting shouldn't have to be done. Besides, there are already ID cards or driver's licenses. That, or people should be fingerprinted when they enter the country or something.
Then again, if you have nothing to hide it shouldn't matter. Though once you commit a crime and you're fingerprinted, you're in the database, so you can be referred to if you commit another crime. Plus, ID cards and licenses can be forged/replicated.

What does everyone think?
