Depends on what type of crime they did. If it was murder, child molestation or rape then no they should not be given any chances for anything!

It depends on the severity of the crime. Criminals can be hard core rapist and murderers. Now this deserves sever punishment and yes, death even. This is why we have "Judges" to decide. Criminals are also thieves, hookers, pimps, drug addicts, drug pushers, (just a few examples of people doing time). These are people who may not have taken a human life. You will find the majority of these people got drawn into this way of life through peer pressure when they were young. Or, some even grew up this way through up bringing, passed on to them by their very own parents, and truly not knowing any other way of life. These criminals deserve rehabilitation and a chance to turn their lives around. Grant you some will and some won't. But, for each ONE that does, the program is well worth ONE life at a time.

Each crime must have a justified punishment to fulfill the criteria of justice and promote peace in society.

If criminals are human beings then who are the victims, especially the killed ones? Ever thought that?

Moreover, we should not let criminals repent only instead they must be coached into a peaceful citizen.

Your question doesn't really make much sense since everyone HAS a chance to repent by virtue of them being human..in other words, it is not something that can be given..or taken away.

Maybe you are reffering to death penalty, in which case i would say, even if they don't repent, it's immoral to kill another human being, even in the name of 'greater good'.

What do you mean "repent"? You mean be sorry for what they have done?

Of course they can be sorry. But they still have to pay the penalty or make restitution for what they did.

If a kid hits a baseball through a window when he wasn't supposed to be hitting the ball in the yard, he should be sorry. Being sorry doesn't mean he doesn't have to pay to fix the window.

Being sorry AND paying to fix the window will hopefully mean that he doesn't break any more windows.

If he keeps breaking windows, he loses the bat and ball and doesn't get to play with them anymore.

that's what the religion teaches. yet regrettably not all of us repents. besides the fact that there's a great tale of repentance interior the e book of mormon whilst 2 tribes have been at struggle there have been one thousand people who layed down their bodies mutually as an invading military slaughtered those no combatant foes. whilst the army found out what replaced into happening they stopped killing human beings and repented they have been converted and found out the awfulness of their deeds. jesus did carry forth that we pray for persons that despitefully use us. i prayed in anger for 2 hours on 2 diverse days until eventually i fell asleep because of fatigue. i in many instances prayed that the people who constantly tortured, tormented and terrorized me might die. i in no way knew a unmarried one that died. besides the fact that it taught me some training. one is that all of us has a genuine to life and the choice to repent. 2 is that if i ended complaining and gave my burden to christ i had greater peace and much less rigidity in my life. i nonetheless pray that folk die whilst the hunt for to poison me with drugs that spoil the suggestions, yet i constantly say i'm hoping for risk-free practices from this evil. and that i will yet stand in the previous them in accusation for the evils they did to me and others. i'm hoping they are going to repent, all of them. yet i will provide judgement and justice to the Lord,

Surely the time they spend in jail and/or prison is quite a chance to repent their sins and turn their lives around, no?

2006-11-27 02:57:01 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. However, their repentance must be genuine and the convicted criminal must still pay restitution and/ or accept whatever other punishment is meted out

Pedophiles do not repent. Many of them state that if given freedom, the first thing they would to is molest and/or kill another child. They should be executed so that we don't have to spend our money clothing and feeding them until they die. I don't even consider them human beings, they are evil entities.

It depends on the crime that is committed. Like murderers should deserve repent. Other criminals depend on how serious the crime and how it was committed.

That's probably the biggest problem of "correctional" facilities: they focus on what they can get out of them, as opposed to what they can do for them. Rather than actual rehabilitation taking place, the imprisoned are merely used as manual labor.
