I have been employed by the same blue chip company for over twenty years; recently I intend to move home to be closer to work and approached an estate agent who found me a property to rent, the agent uses an outside company to reference potential tenants

The company wrote to my employer who are willing to provide a reference providing I allow them to disclose that I changed my name five years ago.

Without going in to specific detail I do not want my employer to disclose this information and I have been told that unless I agree they will not provide a reference

Where do I stand under UK law with regard to data protection and human rights ??

Thanks

DAH

Racism is a horrible thing! I think that there should be a stricter law about this so that everyone can live happily with eachother.

It's not okay to snort coke or shoot heroin, but it IS okay to smoke cigarettes and suck down alcohol, which aren't as harmful as coke or heroin, but they ARE HARMFUL ALL THE SAME!! The number of lung cancer patients who have died and people who have been hit by drunk drivers who have died is proof of that!

I posted this question before and I was not clear that I also have half of my kids custody. We share them equally. I am a good Mom married again with 3 other children. I do not drink or do drugs. My husband doesn't either. I love my kids so much it hurts. I have only recently learned of the shennanigans going on in my boys life and I want to make the right move first. He doesn't deserve them. He is ruining his life and my kids life. I want my kids and I don't feel I have any other choice than to get my X in trouble. That is the whole reasonI want them It is not safe for them. Right? If you dance with the devil you should get burned. I am not the one dancing with him, he is. So how do I get him without getting my kids and myself caught in the cross fire? Oh, and he shaves his head in hopes that a hair test won't be an option. Sly fox he is. I want good advice from a cop, retired cop or someone who has had the same problem. Thank you!

If anyone is voting for Judges in Family Courts - I want to notify you how Associate Judge Mary Brown & Judge Denise Garcia put women and children's lives at stake, literally!!!!! The Texas Family Law is WRONG. They don't care about the kids!!!! The whole system is corrupt. Amicus Attorney's are paid off and don't even care about the kid. ALL THE FAMILY COURTS ARE PAID OFF AND PUT WOMEN AND CHILDREN RIGHT IN THE LINE OF FIRE (LITERALLY) TO DIE!!!!

Hello, a police offer recently came to my door and dropped off a notice that I was being sued for $10,000 for my dad's company that previously went out of business. They were looking for both me and my dad, at the time that he put my name under the company I was only 18. I vaguely remember when I was 18 being worried about this, but he still did it without my permission. Now I am 24. He says he will take care of the 10,000, but I am worred there might be additional lawsuits after this. What can I do, I do not want to turn my dad in for fraud. I just finally saved up $4000 to get out of my debts. Should I be worried?

I am looking to run an internet based game. Players must pay $2 a month to play and are given $5 in fake cash. $1 of their membership is placed into the prize pool. The players can steal other players fake money and defend their own through game play. The players can then cash out for $1 USD = $3 fake dollars. Players also have the opportunity to win prizes such as an Xbox 360.

Would this be considered legal in the United States? They are playing for the chance to win money, not wagering money.

First of all, this is not about me I promise, I'm happily married.
But for example, if two people are living together (not married just living together) and have a kid together and the girl goes and has relations with another guy is that considered adultery or just cheating?
I would say that it's adultery because of the fact that they have a kid together but at the same time they're not legally bound nor by God...what do you all think?

A mass email went out to all of the faculty of a school to ask that we consider a certain candidate. Something about this reeks of impropriety.

There is a law that keeps trying to get passed, however loses everytime - that reoffending DUI drivers have to get a special lisence plate that shows they are a DUI reoffender. If you were able to vote for this law would you vote in favor or against and why? Keep in mind it would be for reoffenders only
