For the most part you will have to mail a copy of the death certificate to each creditor. If he had insurance through his company, the HR department should be your starting point there. If he had any supplemental insurance, then the only way you find that is by going through his personal files.

My mom also died from an accidental death. The cops ruled it out as suicide by Carbon monoxide poisining. She was found in her car in the garage with the car off gas still in the tank and her car keys in her lap! But what we did was just call all the creditors mortgage people and utility companies and told them she passed away. Some will require a copy of the death certificate. If anything at all and they give you a hard time it's not like they can charge someone whos passed late fee's or give them a bad crdit report. Some of these crditors can be harsh and rude when it comes to collecting any fees.Don't feel obligated to do it,and don't give them any personal info because then they will send you the bill.My mom had a overdue phonebill of about $200.00.Of course they wanted to get paid and got my brother to give his info, and got stuck with paying the bill! Now if your cousin had a joint account/accounts with anyone or was married that person and the companies need to work out some kind of plan to pay bills and such.I hope this was helpful.
