Racism is a horrible thing! I think that there should be a stricter law about this so that everyone can live happily with eachother.

It has but only little effort to enforce it.

You are talking about trying to police people's thoughts and that can not be.
Racism may be a horrible thing for the most part but it is part of how we are, everyone of us has some type of racism and those who deny that are only fooling themselves.

I am racist against any one culture thinking that by eliminating another culture life would be better.

As for a law grow up and smell that coffee baby, your talking George Orwell's 1984 and no one wants that.

It would be really hard to enforce if it did exist. Most peoples racism is really privately held and secretive. We live in a day where it is not okay to judge people by their color, so when people do it, they come up with any other reason to judge that person, or just do not verbalize it at all
In Tennessee where I live we will be electing Senator tomorrow. The most articulate educated and conservative Democrat (Harold Ford Jr) is running. Without question, If he were white he would win going away...Bill Clinton type landslide...
I remain optimistic but,,, If he loses...It will be without a doubt to me because he is black...This is a very sad indictment on my state...But, nonetheless a REAL assessment...
I have been working on a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaign by calling registered voters in my hometown. I have called probably 1200 homes in the last 7 days, about 10-15% of the democrats I have asked for support have stated, " I can not vote for him because he might have a pro-black agenda"...Do you believe that.... Just when I think the South and particularly Tennessee have come so far..I realize we still have so far to go....

Good intentions are not enough because in order to work a law must be enforcable. If racism were outlawed the courts would be crammed with people perceived as being racist and civil liberties would be affected. I'm against racism but for better or worse people are entitled to their opinions.

We already have laws banning incitement to racial hatred and scum like the BNP can use their lawyers to skirt round them as do some of the more rabid representatives of religious communities.

So calling someone a racist is one thing but proving it in a fair court would be a big problem.

Yes, it is horrible, no disagreement with you there!
There are lots of laws that prohibit enacting and inciting racist behaviour. But you can not legislate to 'make people nice'! The roots of racism go deep and are very complex. The most the law can hope to achieve is to deter and punish those who actually do harm because of their racist beliefs.
Furthermore, the path of legislation is fraught with difficulties; many people have already pointed out that even existing legislation threatens civil liberty and free speach. People have their own definitions of what constitutes racism. Look at Yahoo Answers, for instance. What may be a perfectly civil, rational and legitimate question to one person may invoke screams of 'racist!' from another.
There are seldom simple solutions to human problems.

there is a law against acting on behalf of racism. It's called a hate crime. you get a harsher sentence if any crime you commited against another human being was based on racism. however, there is also freedom of speech. such as the KKk can preach and practice as long as they do not harrass, harm or cause bodily injury and death.

and btw.....no one will ever live happily ever after with each other. unless we are all induced with a drug. which wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Like all laws, it's about the offender being caught as opposed to the law being stricter and if caught the old judge passing the appropriate sentence!

Far better to challenge the way people think and remove the fear which is at the stem of most racism. We need laws because the racists are still in the stone age, intellectually - they need to change and education must be the way we do it - that's why single faith schools are such a bad idea.

Act 10: 34 - 35 - ...."God is not partial for any man from any nation who WORKS righteousness is acceptable to Him"...

If that's the case, humans are certainly not imitating God or his Son.

Why does anyone face racism? Duh...it's just not going to go away when you have countries such as America constantly playing their sickening tone.

Personally, I have given up on all whites...as they are always topping the list of hate and bigotry and they use their positions to hurt people of color. I now use my position to hurt them and they don't like it, but they get angry and try to "pack up" with other bigots like them.

Racism...blah..blah..blah...it... old and tired but the real sickening ones who constantly perpetuate it won't stop until Armageddon destroys them. That time is not far off. Until that time, I just exist with 'em but I don't try to be too social or friendly because they are a cursed race (leoprosy) and they cannot be trusted...like a diseased frog or something.

Be careful and don't get too close because if you were a cursed race also, I guess you'd have a lot of evil and hate within you and you wouldn't behave yourself fairly. Whites think they run everything and thing is, they do not and this type of "we can" and you cannot illness keeps them in hot water constantly so they lie when they are confronted with their evil ways.

Many times they don't even realize how evil they are but then when they do, they get mad and defensive and it turns into "I just don't care I'm white and I can do this" type sickness. That's when they really need to be eliminated by God, but God has his own time.

As far as interacting with them, I don't really care to...I don't associate with 'em much as they don't have goodness in their hearts and they always lie and cause major problems everywhere.

The world hates America mostly because of them and they group us all in the same bag. If they only knew how much many of us hate them for the horrific things they do on a daily basis and again they use their jobs to hurt people and laugh and have beers over their evil ways.

What does God have to say about that? Well take a look:

Psalms 37: 12 - The wicked one is plotting against the righteous one,
And at him he is grinding his teeth.

13 Jehovah himself will laugh at him,
For he certainly sees that his day will come.

Psalms 37: 8 - Let anger alone and leave rage;
Do not show yourself heated up only to do evil.

9 For evildoers themselves will be cut off,
But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.

Nice ending for the good people soon, so just exist and don't get too close to them...they will backstab you every time.

Afar as I know there is a law in the UK.
I am not a racist and I agree it is horrible but it also must be illegal for everyone because it is not just white British people who are racist.
It is possible to be prejudice without being a racist because everyone no matter where they are from or what colour they are can just dislike someone for their behaviour and not any other reason.

Not sure where you live but the UK there are lots of laws against reacism. These include racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence (i.e. making threats with a racist intent), Racially abusive behaviour, racially aggravated assault, abh, gbh etc. And if the words "racially aggravated" or even "religiously aggravated" appeared before the crime (assault etc) then it is looked on much more serious. E.g. if you shouted I am going to kill you, it will be treated less severe than shouting I am going to kill you, you [racist word].
