my bf has beat me for the past year in a half...at times 3x a week. i never called the cops on him until last night and he was arrested and i have a restraining order on him... i was at the emergency room... the hospital knows what happened & they know there was a police report do you people know if they will provide information to the police without me knowing? what should i do? do i need to let the court know that i was at the er? in fact i'll be having many appointments coming up for follow up??? what should i do?

If you are taking an employer to small claims court for wages due, how can you get a copy of the employers payroll records to prove you were under paid without hiring a lawyer (they won't take the case because the $ amount is only $500 - which is a lot to me).

My computer broke on Sept 11 and I called Dell for technical support. I made 2 calls. First call I was transfered to technical support but I got disconnected. Second call I was told that my warrenty had expired. I found out 2 weeks later that that day was the last day of my warranty but I was still covered when I called. I called Dell asking for an explanation why I was denied and all I've gotten are nonsense answers. Some are even laughable. I need my computer fixed and I wanted what I was denied that day. How can I fight this?

I am looking to sue for around $3,500 - I just need someone to look at the literature to find out if there is a solid case. I would like to find someone around the area of Dayton, Ohio... or if someone could point me in the direction of HOW to find someone around Dayton so that I may contact them for free legal advice. This is not a worker's comp. suit, which I find that most free legal advice is for. There are a lot of dimensions to this possible case, so I would really like to get someone that knows what they are doing. Any help?

I have been accused of bullying, as I took photos of a boy without his consent....their has been a formal complaint by the parents, however my phone and all its contents have been confiscated, as teachers go through all my texts, call history, and pictures. I was wondering if they were technically obiding by the law, because surely it is theft, and invasion of privacy.....I have no idea of the law......so I was wondering if someone could inform of what rights I have......

We're interested using phone records (which we'd have to pay for online, about $30) to use in a business complaint to register with the states Attorney General or possibly a small claims case. The $30 we believe is worth it for our case. We only want the times a business called us (our phone company says they can only trace these after a complaint) The sites that offer this, of course claim to be legal, public records, etc and the research Ive done appears to support this, but admit its sketchy. (thats why Im looking for opinions here) Any thoughts on how this might be viewed by a small claims court judge or AG. Like I said, we only want to know when our number was called since would not be using the legal resources for example of a supeona.

I went to a club one night. I met a girl who just turned 18 (it was her birthday). She apparently waited outside the club until midnight and went in after it was her B-day. I took her to my place and we had sex. Apparently she had “after sex remorse” and claimed rape. Her parents are claiming I raped her too because their daughter is “too precious and innocent” to do anything like that and I MUST have raped her.

Here is where I am getting scared. She was born in the evening time on the day of her birth. The parents got a lawyer and check this out… he is arguing that she wasn’t technically 18 when we had sex. She was at 17 hours shy of being 18 years old. At first I thought this wouldn’t fly, but the District Attorney says they have a case. They are trying to get me for statutory rape and have me registered as a sex offender for the rest of my life. I am only 25 and am facing 25 years in prison for raping an underage girl.

Can someone tell me what is the NORMAL death rate PRIOR to the invasion of U.S and NATO troops?

Can someone offer me a "pie-chart" or a graph detailing - Natural causes ie age, or infant mortality, traffic accidents; death at the hands of thier own people (ie suicide bombers and insurgents); death due to "enemy fire".?

I have had several problems with my landlord. We have given him our two months notice, and are leaving today, there are way too many problems to list, but some include him threatening to steal our things for money, entering our house without notice, and never turning the heat on. We have filed against him, and have a hearing date coming up. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to be totally prepared to bring this guy down??

I work for a company which does scanning of paper for the govt. We have this stupid rule that I can not have a drink at my desk. I never see any original paper because I work with the electronic data. But since my office is on the side of the building with the paper, we can not have drinks at our desk. I am a manager and exempt, others are hourly and non exempt. I've been told that since I sit near workstations I can't have a drink at my desk. The closest workstation is 10 feet away in another room. I feel I am being descriminated against. Another manager who has diabetes has to leave her desk on an hourly basis with a snack and to get a cup of water, because she can not drink at her desk or eat. The other side of the building can do what ever they want. I've already spoken to HR about this and they said go blow!

I've moved out from old apt for a month now, before i left i notified my landlord a month in advance. Till now i haven't got my security deposit check yet. He promised to get me my deposit check at the first time i called. But i've never heard from him since then. I've been calling him many times, really many times, left voice messages but he never returned my calls at all. I'm so annoyed, he really pushed me far to the edge. What should i do to get my deposit check? i do not have the invoice with me, however, i might have misplaced it during the move. I've never seen a landlord such irresponsible. Pls help advice what i should do. Thanks.

My friend thinks that he is entitled to being soviern (not having to pay taxes and all that that entails). I say he is a fool, and greedy. Is it true that if you own land in Texas you can become sovern?
Or am I right ? I say he will loose every thing he has accumulated if he chooses not to pay his taxes.

There is a case in my locality where a girl (hindu: iyer community) is being tormented my her family, because she refuses to marry a particular person.

Case History:
The lady was pressurized by her parents in agreeing for an alliance with another family. This resulted in an engagement ceremony where the boy had not even cared to attend.
Now (after a few weeks), the girl does not want to continue this relationship because of excessive pressure from her in-laws and wants to break the engagement.
The boys parents have threatened the girls family with legal action for many lakh of ruppes, and has verbally threatened and abused the girls family.
The boy's family have also threatened the publicise the name of the girl and her family through newspapers because she refuses to marry.

Current Status:
Currently, the girl is under considerable stress because of the violence unleashed on her by her parents and her relatives.
How can the law protect this girl? Who should i contact? Pls help.
