I was just wanting to know due to a friend of mine says her ex may be getting back pay for disablity and the children are entilted to support ...and she was told they would get back pay just like him.

If you're speaking of social security disability then yes. the children will get their SS retro to the day the father becamed disabled. Have your friend go to her nearest SS office and file a claim for her children.

If this is private disability ins--your child support agency would have to inform the disability provider and give them the information to get support withheld from them.

Yes,if the father has been approved for disability through SS,he will get back pay from the time he applied until he was approved.If he listed his children as dependents,they will also get back pay.A dependents benefit is half of what the disabled person receives monthly.

She should go to the court and inform them of his situation and then his support payment can be garnered from his check. It may not be back-payments though. It may be effective as of the court decision date
