The age of consent in Florida is 16 if the other person is under the age of 30. If they are over the age of 30 then it is illegal to have sex with that person until they are 18, but not illegal to date them.
So, to answer your question, yes it is legal for a 16 year old to date or have sex with a 19 year old in Florida. However, I wouldn't recommend it.

NO. I wouldn't even dream of risking it. If the parents of the sixteen year old presses charges on the 19 year old (should there be sex involved) , then the 19 year old could end up having to register as a sex offender for the rest of his or her life. That just isn't worth the risk. Remain as friends until the minor reaches 18.

If you're having sex, then no... the age of consent is 17, given you have the minor's parents' approval... if not, they can put you in jail even if they are 17.
