My girlfriend...soulmate... she is very dear to me. And she needs help. She is abused by her parents, emotionally and sometimes physically. She is alone a lot of the time... I can't be there with her because we are five hours apart, in different states... so I'm going to make up for the fact that I can't be there with her by doing my hardest to get her help.

The way she is treated is a crime, and I want to put a stop to it. Please, any information about helping abused teenagers would be helpful... any organizations, or information about emancipation, anything that can help... please, I'm desperate to help her...

She has been cutting herself to relieve the stress, and I'm very worried... she can't go to her parents, they don't care.

For reference, she lives in Ohio, she's 15, she has a sister over 18, and I am 17....

Any links to any websites with information would be appreciated.... Please...

I'm asking cuz a friend of mine was physically, verbally & emotionally abused as well as sexually molested by the directors/principals of a Montessori school that she attended from the ages of 3-4.
Because she was repeatedly threatened not to tell, she buried all memories of the abuse, Only when she was 17, suicidal, self-injuring, with Clinical Depression & other disorders & having repeated flashbacks, did she tell about the abuse.
As so much time had passed before she told, her parents didn't believe her & said she probably imagined it & it was just one of the symptoms of her disorder(s). So they refused to report it & because she was dependent on them, she didn't want to "rock the boat" so she didn't either.
Now she is 28 & unable to work or do much of anything cuz of all her psychological problems. She wants to see these perverts pay - either in civil or criminal court.
What can she do now? What's the statute of limitations for Sexual Abuse in the state of Michigan???

In the U.S. we really have some dumb laws like allowing people to be over 90 years old to drive, WITHOUT taking a driving test every year. That's dumb! What law do you think needs to be changed? Or what laws need to be added?

An example would be that in most states that if a person is sentenced to 5 years in prison, this is really the "back up time?" Most non violent crimes including molesting or drug sales- the person is on a "catch and release system". In other words they are placed on probation to continue on with life as usual for all practical purposes. Even if a person does go to prison, in most states they serve about 2-4 MONTHS for each year the judge sentences them to. Does the punishment match the crime or do we make it too easy on the criminal? The bottom line is the U S of A has more killing and molesting of child and drug sales than other industrialized countries. WHY, unless we are just TOO EASY?

There was a question regarding suicide but it was closed to new answers, but in one of the questions regarding gangstalking, it was said that the gangstalkers want their victims to commit suicide, it is prefered over them being murdered so there is no evidence. So, in effect, the gangstalkers are murdering their victims, but just getting them to kill themselves, so why isn't anything being done about gangstalking, with so many victims being terrorized and tormented by gangstalkers and no one is doing anything about it, even the police are in on it, as there is police-sponsored gangstallking and when you show a cop something about it, their facial expression tells it all, it convicts them beyond a shadow of a doubt, it tells it all, they have to know about it and be in on it to get an expression like that on their face, so why is suicide ok when cops or gangstalkers get to make you do it to yourself?

My grandmother (by adoption) died, and our mother had passed away already. Do I (it states in the will per stirpes) have any "claim" to the inheiritance even though she did not recognize me as my mothers child? I am legally adopted, however our relationship was not in tact. My mother still treated me like her own child. Does per stirpes only include my mothers biological children?

A simple answer would be "it's a misdemeanor". But, truthfully ANYTHING you say when stopped can be used against you in court. Why aren't the police told to advise "violators" of this? Case in point, you get stopped, the officer politily ask "Do you have any idea how fast you were going?" you answer...bingo self incrimination. And it's legal!
