Actually they used to be castrated. It was deemed unusual and cruel punishment.
Women who had children out of wedlock also underwent sterilization...it too was deemed improper.
I believe the punishment should suit the crime but we live in a rather liberal and tolerant society at present so I doubt such extreme measures will soon begin anew.

Yes, a long with those who have committed rape. Than they should be put in a jail cell with a big guy named bubba who likes chemically castrated males.

Chemical castration prevents the person from having sex, but it does not remove the persons sex drive and wants. He could still do horrible things.

Opinion:
Let the victim's parent cut off the offending appendage[s] of the perpetrator.
That includes but is not limited to:
penis
tongue
finger[s]
My preferred instrument would be sewing scissors so as to leave a jagged edge.
My second preference would be rusty garden shears.
Regardless of the instrument used, the cutting process itself should be EXTREMELY SLOW!

shop the dick off too cause even tough they don't have testosterone some will do it anyways.....
(my dog is castrated, literally, and he just loves to screw his blankets so i don't think it made much of a difference accept it would make it easier for those people to get away because there's no more dna left behind......

They should be given an electric tag that shocks them if they get near children. Castrating them will create murders. No point living without balls.

my choice for punishment for child molesters is to give them a jar of honey. yes, a jar of honey.
you take them out into a field, bury them up to their necks, and give them a jar of honey -- poured over their head.
and leave.
