In the state of NC I was falsely accused 2x for communicating threats, the cases were dismissed. I am a professional and have no criminal record and although I have not been convicted of a crime my face is plastered on the charmeck website for all to see. Even though it is noted that no one should be denied employment or housing for an arrest record, people do it any way because this diminishes your character. yeah yeah you can get one of them expunged for an outrageous fee, but why? I think it is a violation of my constituional rights and my face and name should be removed from their database. also if you report something that you now know is not true is it not defamation of character?

I learned fr another question that women's Mental Illness & many Mental Hospital stays, are being databased on tons of Clerk of The Court Websites all over the US including Broward County, Florida & Miami Dade Florida.

When a woman has a breakdown or a manic episode, and no family or whoever is around, she often gets Baker Acted or put in the mental hospital without her consent. This info, including when she tries to get out under Habeas Corpus, is being databased for any man to look at, under the online records search of Clerk of the Court websites. Under Yahoo or Google, type in the Clerk of Court for the county, then search under online search & women's Involuntary Mental Hospital Placement & Habeas Corpus & some other things show under Mental Health.

This worsens her mental health, not heal it & subject her to humiliation, social isolation, men gossipping about her, ridicule, staining & shame.

Noone has called the doctors to engage in action or called themselves.

I feel like I am fighting an uphill battle on this, and I really don't blame Americans but rather the journalists. This morning I was reading a question from a woman who was in favor of castrating sex offenders. Perhaps in GB do only child molesters get listed on sex offender registries But do Americans realize that the list of offenses which one can get listed on the sex offender registries is staggering and growing. In California, there are 107 separate offenses. In some states, a non-custodial parent taking their child may be listed as a sex offender. A Georgia woman was listed as a sex offender who "allowed" her 16 year old daughter to become pregnant.

The original intention was to track child molesters and serial predators. And with Jessica's Laws being passed, many of these "offenders" are being banned from entire cities and states. Talk about ex post facto laws.

Is anyone else concerned and outraged about these laws? What is the next step?

I am currently 6 months into a 1-yr lease on a (too big for me) apartment. Due to recent unexpected financial setbacks the total rent per month ($1250) is about $500 more than I can now afford.

Is there a civil (not terribly stress-inducing) way to break a lease ...the lease has no information about that prospect. My "common sense" tells me it'll be okay if I just go talk to the management and explain my situation, I'm just afraid that "common sense" may actually be me being naive... What do you think? please help! Thanks.

10 months after closing he says I owe him for a sidewalk and overages on lights. We closed 8/19/05 and every other item was taken care of in the contract by a addendum all at closing. The amount of money is about $2,000.00. Can he just come back to me this late and expect the money. Every change or money increase do to construction should have been accounted for in settlement at the attorneys office. The charges are valid how ever the sidewalk in the contract says "to be determined". During the install of sidewalk I traded some things to place money for the walk. I asked the builder twice before closing if we were okay on the trade of these items. He said yes. It was all verbal agreement. He is showing a credit for these items, but wants the balance of $1.294.00. I feel like I did my part during the construction phase and at closing. Can he do this.

Is it right to withhold a positive drug screen for pot with the understanding that what is done on vacation stays there but as soon as you displease the party holding the info. They turn it in months later? Causing you to lose your job and income. And the state agency approves and accepts this information as if it was just done. ? Should the party giving this info also be fined and held responsible I thought black mail was illegal too. Should I write the state agency and state to them I accept my part but, the other party should be fined for with holding the infromation that should had been submitted right then.Or should I just say nothing and allow this to continue with other people getting hurt by those in power. Or does the zero tolerance laws accept and encorage such behavior. To use the zero tolerance for the purpose of not helping those that need it but to cause harm to those of us that make mistakes every now and then. I have been to an additionist that has found me not an addic
