No, debt collection agencies are legally allowed to contact you on a Sunday. They are allowed to call each day of the week from 8:00am to 9:00pm in YOUR time zone. If you live in the Eastern Time Zone and they call from somewhere in the Pacific Standard Time and it's 6:30pm for the collector, then it would be 9:30pm for you and he would be in trouble for that. But trust me, they know what Time Zone you're living in and they're not that stupid.

That is usually not the case anymore. It was true under states who recognized the old "blue laws", which prohibited even checks to be written with a Sunday date on them. Most laws recognize 7-day operations rights of most businesses now. It was a religious ethics question going back to colonial laws and has been update by many statutes since especially the 1970s

This is not true unless you are talking about going to court. It would be nice if you would go when they are open. Don't expect to get it in the mail either.
