My daughters father is paying child support and he is still filing her on his income tax every year. and i want to know if possible that i can get her social security number changed or what, so that he cant continue to file her for his benefit. I have contacted to IRS and they are saying that he cant because he needs to show prove of where she is staying and its against the law and he will get caught or auditted. Each year when i file her they always ask me to provide prove of where she is living. what can i do to prevent this from happening again?

This means that people on the bottom of the socioeconomic class rank will have a harder time to make it. In many instances, including mine, I am a first generation college graduate and my family is poor, should this be used as a fair judge of a persons propensity to do a job or commit to a career?

If murder 1 is a capital crime in so many states how is it these two offenses aren't.Both permanantly alter not only the individuals life but their families as well.Even if execution is not an option how about life in prison without the possibility of parole because both types are known to be repeat offenders even after serving prison terms.Your thoughts and opinions other than arguing against capital punishment period. How do you feel???

Wars imply lots of acts that would be crimes if committed by normal citizens like you and me. There are laws protecting citizens. Isn't it a contradiction to the sense of these laws to declare who can be a missile target and who can't?

Is there no law against essentially bribing a public official? I am speaking about cases such as Duke Cunningham and now Bob Ney.
I certainly don't mind seeing corrupt GOP types get their due, but should we not pursue both angles?

My mom signed the papers delivered to my house I was served with while I was on vacation. I have a court date in march 07... This is a very old collection and the interest on it is INSANE. I am a single mother with NO ASSETS, going to school full time with help from social services and educational grants. I want to fight it but I can't afford a lawyer... I would rather pay the principal only in a payment plan. I'm really lost in what to do, please help.
