The Pope's was quoting from 14th Century text and were not his own remarks. Anyone half educated can understand that. I'm certainly not an aplogist for the Pope or Catholicism, but here we have a case of complete over-reaction on the part of the Muslim world. Just like the cartoon fiasco. I can only conclude that the Islamic faith does little to teach believers of how to cope with insecurity and criticism. They seem be like spoiled children who don't get their way. We see them yelling and screaming like maniacs and now we hear of the brutal killing of a nun in Somalia. She was trying to help Somalian children for heavens sake!! Why did she deserve to die? This action seems to validate what the Pope was quoting - that the teachings of Muhammed condone violence. This is madness! Perhaps, what is really wrong here is the appauling lack of education among muslim faithful. Yes there are educated muslims, and as it is with educated christians - even the educated can be gullible. With the numbers of people following the Islamic faith this type of reaction is plain scary.

i'm tired of people just dogging out the muslims and all this stuff about the pope. Some of them might be that way but not all of them. what makes you think the pope is any better. i don't know what is what. maybe it's just me but when people are in power like the pope or the muslim leaders somthin is'nt right about neither of them. i'm soo tired of uncultured or uneducated people talking about certain matters they don't know much about. you don't have to agree with or believe everything someone does or says. whether their his remarks or not.

Because the people who want to foment anti-western hatred had so much success with the "cartoon" demonstrations. One thing any parent knows is that if you give in to a temper tantrum you will get more temper tantrums. If the Pope makes any kind of groveling apology, he will not only lose everyone's respect but we'll see an unending wave of demonstrations of public anger throughout the Muslim world. .
