and that my wages are 642 per hour,but it dosnt have a time limit on it or anything

If they have not rescinded your original contract in writing reflecting your new employment then they are wrong. According to your contract you are still the Head Cashier and should be paid as such. Your best course of action is to get legal advice from your local CAB. Meanwhile I suggest that you look for another job. Your wage certainly does not reflect the responsibility of the job of Chief Cashier and it would seem they want an awful lot for their money. It sounds as if you are in the retail trade.

In that case, they can"t reduce your money. If you are now on a lower grade, they will not give you any pay rises till the lower grade salary catches up to the grade you were on as a head cashier.
