Has anyone ever had this problem with Lens Crafters? My sister and her husband paid over $800.00 for 2 pairs of glasses and one of the plastic nose pieces broke off her glasses and they refused to fix them.

They can't be home repaired. I just think it's outrageous to pay that amount of money for goods that don't even last 6 months and not have them repair or replace them.

I had a problem with Lens Crafters. I purchased a pair of glasses the ones with the frame only at the top and the left lens kept falling out. I went to get it fixed and they did fix it but it kept happening over and over and over etc. But I couldn't get anybody to do anything but keep repairing them. A worker at L/C told me the reason my lens kept falling out was because the lens on the left side was too big for the frame. I wrote the main L/C letter and they didn't even respond. So I have a pair of glasses that constantly need repair.

Just get some glue and fix it yourself.

You can home repair them better than Lenscrafters can. All they do is grind lenses on a machine and stick them in frames. Any monkey can do that. They hire cheap labor and charge you a ridiculous $800 for 2 pairs of spectacles made from pieces of glass or plastic worth about $0.05 combined.

I know a friend that worked there and said she could actually make your lenses in a couple of minutes, but Lenscrafters policy is that the employee has to make the customer wait an hour to make the customer feel like thay are getting something that took time and energy to make. Ridiculous.

They have a 60 or 90 day policy to repair or exchange glasses free of charge. They would repair the glasses now, but for a fee. They probably didn't refuse to fix them, as much as said that there would be a fee.
