The condo was paid for, with a value of about $400k the dues were about $2k would the family be entitled to the difference in the selling price, or does the association get to keep it all?

I have the biggest driveway on the block, and there are always idiots who use it to turn a around in, I wouldent mind it so much, but I have already told them to stop, and they do it when the kids are riding bikes in the driveway. It's making me mad, can I shoot the tires out too?

I am a licensed contractor. I gave a bid to a customer for a pool that needed 'special engineering' her other bids were higher and the bids for special engineering was on average $5,000.00, I gave a price on the pool that she accepted and I told her that I could obtain the engineering at my cost ($1,500.00) only if I am promised the work, she agreed and told me to get the engineering and we would sign the construction contract after, I found out that she was still getting bids on the work while the engineering was being completed, when I called her and told her that her engineering was ready, she told me that she hired another contractor and to take her the engineering plans, I told her that because she breached the agreement, I have to mark up the engineering $750.00, she declined to pay and now is sueing me in small claims and filed complaints against me with the BBB and license board, can I hold her to the agreement and counter sue?

(1) Every one who is in peaceable possession of personal property under a claim of right, and every one acting under his authority, is protected from criminal responsibility for defending that possession, even against a person entitled by law to possession of it, if he uses no more force than is necessary."

What is the "claim of right" part mean?

House bill HR 5295 made it out of committee and passed, and is now going to the Senate for review. This bill allows education officals and local police to just randomly search, all the way to a strip search, any student they want to, any time, based on suspicion only, basically whenever they feel like it and say the magic words.

when a truck, driving in the wrong direction on Meadowbrook Highway on Long Island, crashed into it killing both the limo driver and the 7 year old flower girl, decapitating her. Her mother was seen cradling her head on the side of the road. The driver of the truck was drunk and fell unconscious after the accident. He admitted to not caring about the outcome of his actions. He was from out of state, didn't have a license and had been arrested in his home state twice for driving drunk in the wrong direction on the highway and once for driving drunk.

His mother says "It was just an accident".

This is a true story and hit home for everyone here. The trial just started. What do you think should happen to this guy?

They falsely accused me of abuse (money; & said I had sex with her in her and beat her). ALL LIES - as those evil persons who hold power have used this to take my Mothers life (by putting her in a nursing home & seperating us not allowing us to talk) & take all of her assets. Did pay a lawyer $5000.00 dollars & he never came to court causing my mother to be lost in 'the system'. I LOVE MY MOTHER & NEED HELP.

My experience tells me that most Americans love to discrimenate. Is it national origin, color of the skin, height, weight, accent, education and so much more?
Why people? Is it lack of education or fear that someone else might be smarter or better?

Should everyone have the opportunity to be healthy or only the rich? When 1 in 5 Americans are uninsured or underinsured, it makes wonder why, in this, the richest of countries, we allow this to be so.

I have a friend who has been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder and is now in the hospital for treatment. The situation has been going on for a long time, but has recently come to the surface to it is affecting family, friends and her job. Just prior to going into the hospital she signed a lease for an apartment while in dissociation and now the apartment complex is not allowing her out of the lease. Is there anything legally about a contract not being a binding document if the individual not being in their right mind at the time of signing?

This is for a class, to get opinions. Here is the senario.

A man is court ordered to pay 300.00 a month in child support. The mother of the child is remarried to a very rich man, however the courts dont calculate the money the new husband makes.

The man who is paying child support is also remarried, and they have 1 child of their own, who is a 'special needs child.' This child needs medicines that are very expensive. The man works very hard and always pays his child support. But sometimes, he goes without food or paying other bills like electric, rent, etc because he cant afford it. However, the courts wont lower his payment. They just tell him to get a second job.

What do you think?

I heard a myth about Child Support, and i need to figure it out. It's for a class project:

A man is court ordered to pay 300.00 a month in Child Support. I know what happens if the man doesnt pay any child support. But, is it true that if he only pays a portion of what he is ordered each month, (for example, 50.00), that he wont get into trouble because it is an attempt to pay? Will the man get into trouble for only paying a portion of it? MUST he pay all of what he is ordered each month? What happens if he doesnt pay the FULL amount each month?

Thanks!

If so, how does torture fit into this? Inflicting pain and degradation on someone is treating them as guilty, and the fact that they are being tortured means that they have not been proven guilty.
