I was told by my landlord that because I am moving out of my apt. in 2 months, that they have the right to show my apt. at any time. I thought that they could only enter my apt. with a 24 hour notice from me.

Because she's ashamed, and she just asks witnesses to testify in the court for her. Does the testimony of these witnesses are valid enough without the presence of the victims herself? If she appears in court, may she cover her face? Do you know the methods of how to bring a case to court without the identity of the victims be known to the public/media? In what category should I post this question?

I think there was a famous law based on this, like Miranda rights grew out of another famous case. This incident in NY became synonymous w/failing to render aid.

some one contacted me via email saying that one of his clients in malaysia has died leaving behind a 3.5 million fortune that no one can claim because he has no relatives. however, i can claim half of the money because i have the same last name as his dead client. all i need to do is sign some paperwork, reveal my passport number, and open a bank account in malaysia. this is a hoax, right? it's not possible for some one with simply the same surname to be considered next of kin, right?

A friend of mine wants to immancipate her daughter at the age of 16. Basically so she will be out of her hair but also to get married to a 23 yr old guy. This guy is partly MR and doesn't know alot about sex and things. He just says he loves her and is willing to spend his life with her (not being sure he really understands what that means). This girl is very smart and has been sexually active before. And knows how to minipulate this guy.
Do you think this is or should be a good thing to happen?

I think this law is ********! I mean children and babies should be buckled up, but isn't it your own personal decision to wear a seatbelt? I think it's just an excuse for pigs with nothing better to do to pull you over and issue you a ticket so they can make money for their new cars. I mean, seriously, there are people being murdered and raped out there and the ******* cops have nothing better to do then pull you over for not wearing a freakin seat belt!

I understand that we all have the right to express our viewpoints, but when said viewpoints infringe on the rights of other groups of people (all non-whites, and white homosexuals for example) to live a peaceful life, without fear of persecution, then the right to freedom of speech is superseded by the rights of those groups that are being targeted.

Is this not the case? I'm just wondering how on earth the KKK is getting "protest" or "gathering" permits to spout their filth. Seriously, this is the same group that is known to have instigated and conducted lynchings, among other things.

When is enough enough?

I had posted a question about how I am being harassed by my landlord who is 16 and got an overwhelming "no" in order to trade sex for free rent. Two guys who answered said I should wire my apartment with hidden audio and video recorders and turn the tables on him soliciting me for sex. I contacted the realtor where I rent and if I breach contract I could lose a great deal of money and would be persued in small claims court for violating my contract. I am over $30k in debt now as it is with school loans and with loans I co-signed with my ex-fiance who is in Iraq. I don't want to compromise my principles of sleeping with a 16yo to save $800 per month and I stand to lose alot like my daughter and job. One of the guys stated that if he solicited me and touched me then that is sexual battery. If I have a PI wire the apartment while he is in school and coax him into coming over to demonstrate what he expected of me to do could I use it against him in a lawsuit or would the law persue me?

And now our "inalienable" right to the persuit of happiness is banned along with it? As a side note I don't like Cheetos and they are bad for you, but they make fat people happy, shouldn't I have the right to ban them?

I am a senior citizen that own a property with a fence that was there when I PURCHASED IT 21 years ago I have a tenant living there with 4 kids. A construction co. bought the vacant lot next me and want to build a home. My dilemma is that the fence that is there is 12 inches over on their property. next door. They said they will put a new fence up if I allow them to put a temporary 6 ft fence 5 ft. inside my property line to put up scaffolding and keep it that way for the duration of the build. He has now threatened an injunction that would allow him to do as he pleases and that the expences for a fence would come out of my pocket.
