I was told by my landlord that because I am moving out of my apt. in 2 months, that they have the right to show my apt. at any time. I thought that they could only enter my apt. with a 24 hour notice from me.

Check your lease, if you need that kind of notice inform your landlord and see if something can be amicably agreed upon.

If he enters your Apt. with out 24 hour notice he is in violation of the Federal fair housing act. Check with your local housing authority for information to educate your landlord and yourself on the fair housing laws.

I work for Colorado Fair Housing Authority and I can honestly tell you that your landlord must give you 24hr. notice to show your apt. He is not allowed to bring anyone in your home without notice as long as you still have personal belongings in the unit. Read your lease, it should state it on there

Go back and read the terms of your lease. The times of a landlord being able to show your apt. to someone else should be in writing in your lease.

Yes and no. Technically he can show your apartment, however he must at least give you 2 to 24 hours notice. And if you say NO, he cannot come into your apartment. He CANNOT just show up at your apartment without any notice. But most places use the 24 hour rule of thumb.

They must give you a 24-hour notice. The only time they can enter is if there's an emergency.

They may be confusing it with the exception to the law that says notice is not needed if the unit is on the market, that is, for sale. Since yours is a rental, the exception does not apply.

What does your lease say? If you are moving out, I think you should let the landlord show the apartment as much as possible. That would be considerate if he's been a decent landlord.

i am a landlord myself, so i have some experience in these matters. laws vary from state to state, but generally, a landlord must make a 'reasonable effort' to give notice before any entry into a rented property. what is reasonable is often left open to be defined by judges if things go to court.

ANYTIME is incorrect. They need to communicate with you but 12 hours might be enough. Maybe they can show it when you are working. That would be alot easier wouldnt it? They will say anything Read the lease..
