Aside from the obvious Puritanical religious reasons, can anyone give me any LOGICAL reasons as to why prostitution is still illegal in the United States today? Some claim that it is for health reasons but this argument is clearly bogus. In countries & regions where it is legal (and regulated) the instance of sexually transmitted diseases is actually lower (per capita) than in regions where it is illegal. In addition, if it's regulated the prostitutes can get regular medical attention and safer workplaces. Plus there would be additional revenues for the government to collect on. So...if no one is getting hurt...while keeping health & safety issues under closer scrutiny...generating legitimate revenues for both patron & government...why is this still illegal?

Someone rear-ended me yesterday. I am having headaches, back, neck, and shoulder pain. Also, I'm having pain with my siatic nerve and in my upper legs. I went to a chiropractor ( they are billing his insurance) and I am going to speak to an attorney tomorrow about a settlement. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice? Any ideas of how much money I will receive? thanks..

I have a lemon law case against Nissan. Last March, a Nissan representative sent a letter to my attorney offering me $3000 to settle the case. It appears the problem I was having with my Armada has been finally resolved. Now, I really want to get the $3000 they are offering. My question is, should I have my attorney contact Nissan to send me the payment or should I contact the Nissan rep directly without advising my attorney? I'm afraid that if I contact my attorney first, he'd ask for payment from me as well. Any ideas? Thanks.

There is alot of caselaw about claims preclusion where claims have already been tried in a seperate case.

Is the law the same in a case that was appealed and remanded for trial? Are jury findings that were not appealed precluded if there is to be a new trial? There is evidence admissable in the new trial that was not admitted in the first trial - but it may be a stretch to argue that the new evidence is relevant to the one claim that may be precluded.

Caselaw appreciated

Hey everyone,

So here's the deal. Frankly, I've had enough of this. I've decided that something needs to be done. Sexual Assault is a crime that has plagued this country for centuries. Year after year hundreds of thousands of offenders are proven guilty and numerous lives and families are destroyed. Though despite the seriousness of the offense what happens to those offenders? 3-6 years in prison? That's it. I'm sick and tired of such menial punishments for such ridiculous acts of indecency. There simply has to be change, it's needed. If you have read this far, I only ask you for one more thing. Please take a few moments and visit my online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/60364... . Read it and simply sign your names. That's all I ask. And if you do agree, please help me spread the word, as that is the only way this petition will get off the ground. Thank you for your time.

If you want to police the world, you need to be fair to all or else get stuffed.Keep your lies as they are becoming tedious to the real life people of the world. Your hypocricy shows, only you seem to be blind to it all. Jugde not lest you be judged.Conscience anyone?

Madison Wisconsin Plans to charge a $5 cover charge to access State Street this year for Halloween. Is it LEGAL to do this? Can the city really charge for access to a pedestrian throughfare? Can they really say that one must pay to use a public sidewalk, to gain entrence to a public street, to patronize a variety of public stores? This seems contrary to the right of Freedom of Assembly and wrong on various other levels

If you have a legal background and have any idea about the ground the city could possible be standing on I would love to hear what that might be. Otherwise I'm looking for more backing on why this might be illegal. Thanks In Advance.

In the news recently a young boy and his family want to try alternatives to treat their sons cancer. I had a friend who was diagnosed with liver cancer.. after a year he search other ways. He found a diet which included lots of brown rice. One year later, after a series of tests, he showed no cancer!
I mean they are not denying him treatment, they was every oppurtunity to travel other avenues. Next thing you know the govt will try to control every aspect of our lives.

I have just read and replied to someone saying there is going to be a Muslim Only Day at Alton Towers. I did put my thoughts to his answer.

I have now looked at Alton Tower's website and it is a Private Corporate Event. So it has been booked for and paid for by a private company so yes this is acceptable.

Sainsbury's did this several years ago and it was for employees and their family only.
Many companies book corporate events like this every day of the week all around the world mainly a thank you for all the hard work they have put in over the past year.

Local supermarket went with a new check approval agency. Customers always cashed checks for over the amount for cash back. Without notifying customers by going with this agency they changed their policy to state that you have to cash 10 checks for the exact amount of purchase before writing one over. Can they do that without telling anyone.
