If you want to police the world, you need to be fair to all or else get stuffed.Keep your lies as they are becoming tedious to the real life people of the world. Your hypocricy shows, only you seem to be blind to it all. Jugde not lest you be judged.Conscience anyone?

I can see the humanity and i don't mean all but aren't the ones who voted for the present government responsible and since only half agreed to put the moron there, where are the other half of the decent Americans that i have come to know as caring and never one to run away from injustice including the vetoing of U.N security council resolutions by the majority, what democracy is that? This is the main contention with most of the Muslims in the world and this is one of the main reason why the war on terror that the moron so aptly stated on his warmongering speeches will never suceed for there will be Muslims or otherwise who will stand up and say you are unjust and when no one intervene that person will take it to the level of a terrorist and the cycle will be repeated again and again. Why not stop your injustice and save yourselves by not standing by for falsehood and the double standards practiced by your government. You might get a shock readind about the resolutions vetoed by america

As in most other countries in the world, there are good people and there are bad people. I for one, being born in the US, wish that our government would spend half the time on its own citizens that it spends on other countries. As for us being "asked" to help, I admit that I have no idea. I can only repeat what is being said in our media, which everyone knows, is not the complete truth or "freedom of speech" that we are constitutionally given. I do believe that the US government does push their might around and I wish that we would become a neutral country, at least until we get our own country under control. But having read alot of news from all over the world, I don't see any large country that doesn't have its complaining citizens and its opposers. No one is perfect.

Its not the American people, its the Ameircan Government, and the Government is constantly stepping on our heads. It started in the 50's with the TV generation. A permanent distraction the the horror around us. Now we are raised to believe whatever is fed to us. If we knew the real truth and how to handle it I know I would do what I could to fix it, but the Government owns the media, and everything else for that matter. Democracy my ***. Its well on its way to being a Dictatorship and there is nothing I can do about it as an American, If you can find a way then please, enlighten us.

This is an interesting question, and a profound one. How do we reconcile 58 million people voting for George W. Bush, and this senseless invasion of Iraq? I believe that the answer lies, and I do mean lies, predominantly with AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby. If you do some research, and use some intuition, you will conclude that our relationship with Israel is our predominant problem, as it alienates nations and allocates resources to Israel when they should be used here. And the fact that the country is being led by the Pro-Israel lobby, which tends to consist of liars and cowards, will in a sense turn Americans into similar beings. Our actions in Iraq are really just learned behavior from the Israelis.

No, my observation is that they are a simple trusting folk. They believe what they see on TV and what their politicians tell them. They also do not travel much outside of their hometowns and the U.S.
They enjoy a VERY high standard of living compared to the rest of the world and are given a false sense of security. (Oh, I never thought something like that could happen here, it's such a nice quiet neighbourhood - every time I hear this I fight frustration and the urge to laugh).

These are generalizations, but watch the Amazing Race and you quickly understand. Better yet, watch Leave it to Beaver and the Andy Griffith show. This is what Bush probably grew up watching.

The rest of the world has no idea what they're up against. Living in this country is a trip. and vice versa

I believe, based on broad experience, that most individual people, not just Americans, are both generous and kind.
That being said, American society, as a whole, is extremely paternalistic. An archaic way, but it exists....
We have always been of the mindset to do for, not with. We've long imposed the standards and beliefs of the white middle class on all of our social service programs. Our public education system is in shambles. Primarily because we can't let go of a model that was built on mass teaching = fiscal expediency developed in the late 19th century....
Yet we spend so much money on propaganda, to each other, that we generally believe we are the best and greatest land on earth. Ergo, our way must be the right way. So, if it is the right way then we must be right on imposing it on others...it is very circular, flawed thinking, but it is how we think....not necessesarily individually, but in a controlled, policy/politics guided way.....
And, unfortunately, many, many average, Joe Blow folks buy into this image of our societal rightness and support those who make policy and politics....
So....
Inherently humans, including Americans, are good....
American policy and politicians suck.....
But we have to individually make a commitment to change.....So that as individuals we become the collective.......

Not an easy road.....

I work for an American company and a big one at that. What constantly surprises me are that not many US citizens travel out of the USA, therefore do not get the chance to experience the cultures and lifestyles and the thought process of another race outside USA. Americans are certainly not heartless , for sure, they are just driven by their principals and procedures and politics. If they were just a bit more aware of what's out the in rest of the world, especially Asia, it would be a great resource for them. Starbucks, McDonalds, Coke, Exxon, American Idol -- all American icons that has succeeded ...surely something must be working.....As for being a human, it needs a little working on . Americans are viewed as superficial in nature, not really wanting to get to know citizens of other countries. That's feedback that is worth mentioning, from my point of view.

We don't want to police the world. We would would be happy to sit here in our own country. But we have a steady stream coming and crying for help. You want our money and our soldiers blood, expect that we are going to get a return on our investment. If you don't like our terms, go somewhere else. Simple. We are not heartless, we give until it hurts, we are however sick and tired of being taken advantage and being called the bad guys all the time.

Please be knowledgable enough to seperate American citizens from American government. Most governments are corrupt. reasonable people don't take it out on their citizens!

So, since the governments of Yugoslavia and Somalia were involved in genocide, should I bash Somalians and...what are people from Yugoslavia called anyway? Since the government of Iran and Venezuela are corrupt, should I hate their people? Should I generalize that all Arabs want me dead, or that all Koreans want to nuke my hometown, or that all Thai people are into child-molestation? Things sanctioned by a government regime do not reflect the opinions of all of their people. Most people in the world are no different than you and me. They are well-meaning and good-hearted people who want peace, stability and prosperity. Do you read anything posted here BY Americans? Most Americans have issues with the way the government is running at this time too! Should I despise you because your government holds to policies different than mine? Be very careful about overgeneralization, dear. This is where racism and hatred begin!
