I was watching this documentary the other night about this poor little girl who was raped, beaten and murdered in a horrible way. The man who did it confessed and received the death penalty. Her grandmother on her father's side was all for it. Her grandmother on her mother's side was totally against it she even befriended the man who tortured her granddaughter and murdered her and began to protest at the court house! In my opinion, if a crime this horrible is directed towards a child, there should be no other punishment besides capitol punishment! What are your opinions?

If you show the mother a sonograph thing with her baby alive and moving?
or if you describe abortion in a horrible but obviously not true way (e.g.first they smash the skull then drain out the brains...). I'm not messing because if the aborting mother was to be disgusted by that then they should be disgusted that they are doing something so horribly at all.

A friend of mine has paid her rent on time every month. She has just bought a house, and given them proper notice to break the lease 2 months early. This apartment building has made her and her family go with out water for 3 weeks, never fixed a mold problem, never replaced an oven with a crack in it-that rusted through, amongst other things... Now they are giving her a hard time with paying extra penalties....besides the penalties for breaking the lease two months earlier

She has proof and witnesses on these living conditions that she was forced to live under, but doesn't know what her rights are...

She is a good person that's works hard for her money and I hate seeing her get screwed by these corporate slugs.. What can she do?

If you prefer to email me.. feel free to IM me through my blog

I think this country is way too lenient on criminals and we should do like some 3rd world countries and punish according to the crime. If you commit a crime you get one warning and after that its it. If you steal they cut your hand off,if you rape someone, they cut your **** off,if you kill someone, you should be killed the same way exactly!...i have a degree in criminal justice and i don't agree with the 8th amendment on cruel and unusual punishment...i think this would deter crime in this country at an alarming rate...and i know im gonna get some liberal responses so feel free, but i wanna know who agrees with me

I work in an office suite that has one mens bathroom and one womens bathroom and maybe 20 different offices that share the same bathrooms. The guy who owns this building rarely cleans the bathrooms and when he does, it comes nowhere close to being cleaned properly. I think it's a health hazard. Is there anyone I can call about this or any website that I can report this guy to. I don't want to cause trouble, but i'm tired of having to clean the toilet seat every day, it's just not my job.

Should smoking be banned in areas that can affect others (workplace, restaurants, apartment/condos, etc)?

Should you have a right to smoke wherever?

Do you agree or disagree with the following quotes:

"Many fought and died for the freedom of choice in this country..now more freedom is being taken away by the government..it's a choice of one to smoke, they have the right to make that choice..smoking in public places should be prohibited, but also brings up the question on what's next if this is passed!"

"Ban it. NOBODY has the right to pollute someone else's lungs.
Maybe customers have choices about whether or not to go into a restaurant or other public place but every public building has employees. These people deserve the right to breathe unpolluted air. Also, many people bring kids into these public places. Kids have no say in the quality of the air they are exposed to. We need to provide clean air for them."

it is SELF EVIDENT that when a government becomes tyrannical, the citizenry MUST PULL IT DOWN (my paraphrase of certain ideas spelled out in our founding socuments).

Can a disarmed population pull down a militarized government?
If the citizens allow the ban of weapons, how can it pull down a government, should that need ever arise?

J.K. Rowling, Author of the famous Harry Pottor books is planning to have Harry Pottor killed in the last book. For all you harry pottor fans, and people who have connections, we need to discourage this act. For how would the story go on? How would we know what is going to happen? With all the work and bravery that has happen through the years in the Harry Pottor world, how can this be? What about the profecy? "Neither can live while the other survives"? Wasn't Rowling trying to tell us that Harry was finally going to defeat Voldemort? All of us across America who care about what happens in Harry Pottor need the help of those people with connections. If you care, help us. If your not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

In the 80's, there was a town (I want to say in indiana, but I am not sure) that outlawed gun ownership completely. About 30 miles away, there was another town that, in reaction, made it mandatory for everyone that was legaly allowed to own a gun, to own and carry a gun.
The first town had it's crime shoot through the roof and the second town had it's crime rate drop to the lowest crime in our country!

In addition to the opening questions, can this practical evedence possibly be shown that gun control works? ( I think that the criminals will never turn in their guns, ESPECIALLY if they know that everyone else in town is disarming)

My husband and I have been watching a lot of C-Span lately. We realized that we honestly really have very little idea of what the U.S. Constitution actually says. I know that most of it will not apply to the common citizen (i.e. NOT a politician or judge), but I think that it would be important to have a better understanding of this most important document. Can anyone help?

How is it that I cannot kill an intruder who is not intending me odil harm, but just to steal, but the police shoot out the tires, beat half to death (or to death) drunk drivers, or shoot bank robbers, fleeing the scene?

If we are a true government OF the people and BY the people and FOR the people, , how can ANY government department, office, or official (including police) do something that you and I are barred from doing?
The contitutuion seems t put tighter limits, not looser, on the government as opposed to the citizenry at large.
example:
I can break into a house and search for illegal items (drugs, weapons) without a warrnt but a cop (in theory) cannot.
What is going on here?

I have a 14 y/o daughter who is being harassed by a 14 y/o boy that is obsessed with her. Last night he called her cell phone 31 times between 1:30 am and 4:00 am. And he called our house phone 5 times. We have asked him to stop, but he still continues. He goes over to her best friends house looking for her all the time, she lives near him. This boy was arrested and kicked out of school last year for selling drugs and fighting. After that he was not allowed to be on school grounds. So every afternoon he was parked on the street in front of the school with his older brother.
This is something that is really scaring me. I know that he comes from a troubled home, lots of violence. I feel bad for him, but the authorities know what is going on in the house. When school starts back up again, he will be back on campus with her, and has threatened her & her friends. Is there anything I can do to stop him? Can you file for a restraining order against someone so young?

That the criminal 'justice' system unfairly wieghts charges to immiditely sway a jury, before the trial even begins?
Example:
A drunk gets in his car (drink driving) doesn't stop for the flashing red and blue (resisting arrest), he cannot drive well BECAUSE he is drunk (Reckless driving, reckless endangerment, speeding), He swerves into the oncoming lane or into the lane were a police car is (attempted murder).

and yet the cops attempt to shoot out tires (who knows where THESE stray bullets go?) or use tire spikes (again ensuring that the drunk, who can barely keep his car under control has a vehicle that is uncontrolable).
How about-murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, attempt to do great bodily harm, battery, various weapons charges.
Would not murder, by definiton be the fulfillment of the attempt, and by definition been an attempt to do great bodily harm, and be the worst battery possible?
Seems like stacking the deck, the person MUST be guilty!
What do you think?
