If you show the mother a sonograph thing with her baby alive and moving?
or if you describe abortion in a horrible but obviously not true way (e.g.first they smash the skull then drain out the brains...). I'm not messing because if the aborting mother was to be disgusted by that then they should be disgusted that they are doing something so horribly at all.

Now, do you really think that many women have been raped, etc?

Yes, I agree the SONOGRAPH thing has been thought of before.
Good but unlikely idea

Fact: Did you know that there has been nearly 50 MILLION ABORTIONS in America since 1973.

we all know the pros and cons of abortions. There are a lot of scared and desperate people out there. My friend had one because she was in a violent relationship and felt she had no other choice at the time, A family member also had one cos the baby wasn't growing and the doctors thought the baby would be handicapped in some way - a lot of people just don't want to raise handicapped children, or aren't able to financially. A lot of people would accept that the baby is disabled and bring it up without issue. The smallest deformity could mean operations on the baby, and the mother is unlikely to be able to work during this time. What i do object to is the fact that a lot of women KNOW what they are doing when they have unprotected sex! After having a baby and trying for another i know how difficult it is to work out your fertile time. The morning after pill doesn't allways work and is not an alternative to proper birth control pills. condoms, etc

It will change some people's minds and stop them going through with it but others it will serve to reconfirm they are doing the right thing. And is it fair to use emotive imagery to try and change a person's (generally) well informed choice? a moment of guilt could change their mind, but who is to say that would be best for either the mom or the baby? I personally almost had an abortion (I was tagged and ready to go) and it wasn't the ultrasound that put me off, it was because deep down I wanted my son. If your mind is made up its made up, and I knew deep down I would back out at the last minute. I support fully those people who make that brave choice and bear the years of (probable) guilt afterwards. They have a lot of guts and are selfless people as only a truely honest and selfless person can go through something like that because they know they can't parent a child properly at that time. you obviously haven't seen enough of life to really understand these issues and you have a very narrow viewpoint.

First off, one of the ways an abortion is performed is by crushing the skull and removing the brain. Studies have shown that if the mother sees the baby moving around, she may connect that to a living being and not a mass of tissue. They are more likely to change their mind if they see an sonogram or hear a heartbeat.

We get it, you disagree with abortion. You are lucky, you will never find yourself making the difficult decision. You will have the baby if you get pregnant.
Its an easy world where there is no rape or syphilis.
Most abortions take place very early, while the foetus is a clump of cells so your lurid descriptions are way off the mark. Don't pretend that all abortions happen the way that you fantasise. There is a legal upper limit. Stop being so judgemental and try to find something positive to do. Volunteer for Barnados if you love kids so much.

Why should abortion be OK when physician assisted death isn't? They are both the killing of a living person.

It's the same thing. I know someone could argue rape but if that's all you've got keep it. If you were "grown" enough to hop in bed, or the back seat, or the bathroom, or the kitchen table or WHERE EVER and have sex without protection then be "grown" enough to take care of the results in a mature manor. There are many women that can't have babies that would LOVE to take care of the one you made in the back seat last night and don't want today.

How dare you be so presumptuous and judgemental. There are some women out there who know deep down that they are not ready for the massive responsibility off motherhood and you think it is perfectly acceptable to guilt them into accepting this responsibility. Your actions will not save the suffering of some of these embryos, your actions just delay it. When the embryo is then born as a conscious child into a world of abuse, neglect or abandonment. Why don't you concentrate on your own life and look at the world around you and then ask if your opinions are really valid.

It is not ethical to lie about such things. By showing some true photographs and giving true facts, it should be enough to put a mother off abortion. However, there are reasons for a woman wanting to abort. You should make sure she is aware of both TRUTHFUL sides, so she can make an informed decision.

OK, if it would turn someone off an abortion and they decided to keep the baby, would it make you happy??? If you heard or read about it and you wouldn't even know the person? Maybe it would give you a feeling of triumph inside, but really it's none of your business what anybody does with their body, haven't you got any LIFE???

What is your trip on abortion anyway? Get off the soapbox and rejoin the rest of us in the real world. People make mistakes and stuff happens. The photographs of aborted fetuses and reports of abortions really sicken and sadden me too--I'm cynical, but human--but it also makes me mad that now these little lives are over and they are used by zealots who use their shock value to try and manipulate people. So--who's worse? This is an issue that shouldn't be discussed in public. It's between you and your conscience, and your doctor.
