Note that in California, English IS the official language. The unfairness here is that many many 'free' language services are given to students and family for ESL, butt even standard language classes for our own people have been cut as part of cuts to provide ESL and intervention programs, much of which funding goes to those illegally here. In this case, where poor parents are discussing allocation of dollars for programs to serve the poor, for the Chairman to insist on giving his report, etc in Spanish means the non-Spanish speaking poor are cut with impact speaking English does not create, since we enable English speaking. Many of the people in the Spanish speaking side of the camp have been taught to speak English with our funding. American poordon't have that opportunity.

I think we have better things to fight about than language. Funding is one. Thoughts?

This is better oil, and from a friendly government.
Brazillian Oil

But this source of fuel is far, far better, cleaner, much more plentiful, and in this day and age, very easy to implement although massive in the implementation.

When you harvest a field of corn, corn shock is left.. the stalks sticking up with nothing on them. We need to do this too.. it is energy independence to say the least.

Corn Waste Potentially More Than Ethanol

ScienceDaily (Jul. 19, 2006) — After the corn harvest, whether for cattle feed or corn on the cob, farmers usually leave the stalks and stems in the field, but now, a team of Penn State researchers think corn stover can be used not only to manufacture ethanol, but to generate electricity directly.

I saw them on t.v in the streets of california marching with their flags and making hateful statements to americans. Who is racist here? How did these people think this would help them? They were full of hatred, yet if you say anything about them you are considered a racist? How about a better term, an american citizen who doesnt want to be treated disrespectfully.

It occurs to me that the exodus of ignorant, abused, peasants out of Mexico and into America (thus, their becoming felons in this country) needs to be addressed at the source... I am told that the Mexican government is racist against it's own people; corrupt, and that it has Mafia tactics. Okay. Why can't America, through all of its billions of tax dollars(which we are throwing at a useless war in Iraq in the name of "National Security"), redirect that money by backing some Mexican Freedom Fighters so that our borders can be secured, the Mexican government can be overturned, and Mexicans can be happier in their country and stay there? Simple, isn't it? What 's wrong with this plan? What would you do differently to keep Mexicans in Mexico?

FYI

I have no problems with legal Mexican immigrants in America...just the flood of illegal Mexicans into this country.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposition_187

In 1994, 58% of California voters approved a ballot proposition to ban welfare for illegal immigrants.

A Federal judge overturned this state law on 14th Amendment grounds by stating that it denied illegal immigrants the "equal protection" of the law.

He is of course referring to an amendment that was not legitimately passed by Congress (they voted not to seat an opponent of the amendment after he had been seated to get enough votes) and was not legally ratified (there was a kidnapping in Tennessee, fraud in Oregon, and intimidation of former Confederate states). Nor was the amendment understood during the first 50 years it was on the books to grant any such power (which is self-evident).

So, why is a judge using the 14th Amendment to grant rights to illegal immigrants to get welfare?

i have 7 that are here on work visas or have green cards.
i refuse to hire anyone who is "undocumented".
so i ask...if they are breaking the law by being here illegally why should i break the law and give them a job?
i worked hard to get where i'm at so why should i risk everything i have worked so hard for for someone who could care less about our laws?

I'm an American citizen and my boyfriend is a UK citizen - I want to know how we could go about getting married, the forms needed, if it'd be easier to do in one country rather than the other, which one would be possibly the less expensive route or easier, how long it will take, maybe even some websites or anything to refer to me to for guidance or anything else on a serious note - would be much appreciated. Thank you

To Clarify, I see gas stations, Liquor stores, clothes stores, restaurants, even big companies, that are owned by people who are immigrants. I went into a Chinese owned store yesterday, I asked him a question and he didn't speak any English!!! NONE. I asked an English speaking cousin of his who the owner and manager is and he pointed to the non English speaker! I have nothing against this, I'm just wondering. I've inquired about immigration to Europe and new Zealand and found that English is required for permanent residency. Which brings me to the question, do new immigrants get perks that the average American does not? Or do they just pull their recourses together? Anyone have information on this topic?

I really want to know... Why should we rewrite our laws to accomodate Mexicans? Mind you, in order for your answer to be chosen as the best one, you had better make some sense. Also, your comments need to come from legitimate sources.

Your thoughts?

Does the analogy fit? How? How not?
