I hate Sammy Sosa, but I've got other reasons...

I often wonder how America got stuck with such a boring 'great passtime.' Maybe it just seemed like fun compared to cricket.

But, yes, I suppose the occasional reactionary nativist who hates all immigrants would stick to his guns with respect to Sosa.

I'm only down on ILLEGAL immigrants, but I could care less about a couple of baseball players. Robert Rodriguez, OTOH, I'm a big fan of. He's not an immigrant, though.

I do not think that this country or it people hate immigrants. This country is built on immigrants. I'm an immigrants myself. What you are talking about is illegal alien or if you want to be PC then it would be undocumented immirants. Do a little research and you will find that other country immigration policy is not anywhere better than US policy. What you talking about is different. It is similar comparison to company who looking for talents end up hired people from other country. The company has to file paperwork to apply visa for those people. So if you got talent then I guess you can come to this country much faster than other people, but still not as fast as the illegal alien!

Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez are LEGALLY HERE so no. If they were here illegally, I'd say the same thing to them as I do every other illegal, GO HOME

The question is about those who hate 'immigrants', nothing about 'illegals' - the answer is yes, those who hate immigrants hate anyone who looks or sounds like foreign born. It's all about hatred for immigrants and it does America no good.

People in general do not hate any group of legal immigrants. Comparing legal athletes to illegal immigrants makes no sense.

If that is true than they would have had to hate DiMaggio too. Nobody in America is native to this continent except Native Americans so anyone hating on immigrants has definitely having some insecurity issues about who they are and why they aren't happy.

In response to others my point is we are all immigrants or sons or daughters of immigrants. The question mentions nothing of illegal immigrants. And many of your misguided posts seem to validate this question which I think is kind of stupid. In retrospect it's a great question and many of the responders are stupid. Here's food for thought. Many of the illegals in this country were once influenced to come here to do labor that "native's" didn't want to do. So is this country's policy to come when we need you and then get out. Also Americans do a lot of illegal immigration/ remember draft dodgers.

Stop trying to cloud the issue by lumping LEGAL immigrants in with CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS.

I don't like Sosa, but it has nothing to do with being, um, Dominican? (I think. Don't quote me on this.)

I don't really have any opinions about A-Rod. I don't watch Baseball much.

not a sports fan but i doubt that they got where they are without the proper credentials. i dont know....ask them for their green card...oh thats right that's not politically correct....oh well im sure that their accountants have handled that for them when they file their TAX RETURNS to take care of their necessary legal business for the fortunes that they make in this country.

as far as hate.......no hate ....no hate... sam and alex deserve their social security check when they retire. i thank them for their contribution to our system of government.
