doesn't matter which side of what issue you're on, do you think
Congress has provided an adequate venue/sufficient attention
to reach good decisions on either one?

I am not a democrat, republican or any other title. I do know that the success of illegal immigration is contingent on Hillary and no other democrat. Other democrats do not have the same commitment from " the race." La Raza is spearheading her campaign and has practically shunned everyone except Mrs. Clinton. If for whatever reason a republican does not win and Hillary is toppled, there will be a panic in the house of La Raza.

They have ignored and talked against other candidates in order to help Mrs. Thangs. Now that the tide has turned, they will have to eat crow and do damage control. IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK!! They WILL eat the fruit of their labor. Finally and permanently, they will be put out to pasture without hay.

I voted for both president Bushes but believe they abandoned us on the immigration issue. Why are the voices of the majority of american citizens not heard? I am no longer a republician but an idependant and will even vote democrat if this person hold my views.

As a big opponent to illegal immigration in california I face many difficult choices every day. It is because of concerned people like me that the problem will alleviate. Illegal immigration is a immense problem in California and causes quite a backlash these days, not only from generally 'Anglos Americans' and other groups to latinos, but also simply from legal Mexicans who are (regrettably) looked at with increased negativity.
Many times I go to a restaurant or other business like store or carwash and I see a lot of latino (usually Mexican) workers, waiters, valet etc. I won't mind if they are legal but I fear they are mostly not these days. How can I tell? I need to know because spending money in the wrong places and people stimulates illegal immigration.
Must I ask (and believe) the owner? Do illegals have certain tattoos (3 dots)? I saw a post saying that if you shout ICE, those who scatter are illegals. Seriously i don't want to shout ICE in every restaurant. Any better way?

I mean, if it's a numbers game, the USA wins, we have almost 300m and Mexico has less than 100m, even if all the people here from Mexico illegally go back to Mexico they will still not have more than us. So, why don't people just move to Mexico and claim it as part of the USA? Is there any good reason not too?

Is it possible to immigrate to Canada, and then move to Quebec as a Canadian citizen? I wasn't sure if moving to Quebec would be as easy as moving from state-to-state like in America.

Immigrating directly to Quebec seems like a nightmare.

Any help from those who live/have lived in Canada or Quebec... I would greatly appreciate it. :)

I mean don't get me wrong... I'm an immigrant myself and I am not anti-immigrant, but why is it that people in Mexico still want to come? The per capita income is almost $12,000 and Mexico is a democracy. It's not like they are dying of hunger and are being oppressed. They are way better off than most people around the world!

Even though it's in the economy's benefit for us to be here and WE ARE contributing...Antis still seem to hate ...they seem to self-blind themselves to the TRUTH for fear of facing themselves....they've forgotten what America was about, in between LATTES and XBOX and Desperate Housewives....that is the BLOND America of today

WE MEXICANS have not forgotten G-D and hold him as dear to our hearts as the pilgrims did!!! and WE will be America's Savior and future. WE will restore America

I came here as a baby and thus had no choice in the matter, and we came for political not economic reasons. I can tell you this, whether here or there. I GUARANTEE you I am capable enough to secure income and security for my family, I need rely on no one. I own my own business, as I would if I was raised in Mexico, because it is my preference. I can provide a secure environment for my family, here or there, as my father trained me in the handling of firearms and Martial arts.

Why should i pay for the bad doing of my parents? why should i be called a criminal when i never gave my consent to be brought here like this?
it was 1994 when my parents came up with the idea to come to the united states (lived in Mexico).and i was only 4 years old and didn't know what i was doing . i didn't know i came here, to the united states, unwelcome .
Now, I am an 11th grader with so-so grades taking some Ap classes and now I face more problems then what i ever did.
i cant drive cause i have no drivers license. i cant work because i have no social security number. i cant buy i house cause again, i have no papers. And if i thought i had enough problems already, in two years ill be going to college. More problems for me .

Im lost i dont know what to do, Im afraid of messing it all up and throwing everything that i have worked for out the window.
is there anything i can do, with out it interfering with my life as a student . please help me. I dont want to be illegal anymore!

Are we obligated to take in another 20 million illegals? Take and take and take in until we have betrayed our own fellow Americans to the point where we have nothing left?

When will it stop?!

So many anti-immigration fanatics complain about how immigrants are supposedly ruining this country, and one of the things they complain about bitterly is how most telphone menus say "Press 1 for English". It seems so silly to me that people complain about pressing just one single button for English. Are all the anti-immigration activists really so lazy that they can't press just 1 button for English? If that's the case, I can't imagine how trying it must be for them to dial a 7 or 10 digit phone number! Or is it just that you anti-immigration activists can't stand being reminded that foreign languages and cultures exist? Please tell me why it is such a grave inconvenience to press 1 for English!

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors.
I've done all the things you don't like to do.
I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters:

• You are Required to let me stay in your house
• You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
• You are Required to Educate my kids
• You are Required to Provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself.
I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house.

And what a deal it is for me!!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior. Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn MY LANGUAGE!! so you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America

Why does everyone here talk about legals being OK, illegals not?. A piece of paper doesn't change their origins just as a leopard doesn't change it's spots. My friend for instance dislikes all immigrants, even his own immigrant relatives. He says they never truly fit in and force their backwards cultures on everyone. What do you think?
