The phenomenon is called 'La Reconquista', it's been around
for a while, some say it's over-hyped, some say it's a real
problem, it's modeled after what happened in Spain centuries ago, so in one sense it's a good example of people
bringing their Old World problems with them to the americas. It's part racism, part nationalism, part greed, part stupid, but
all part of the 'fun' we've seen emerge on the political
spectrum over the last decade or so. Mainly, it's about money.
I don't think there's that much altruism in the world, anytime
people really start getting political, it's usually about money.
Here's some links I found on the subject...reader beware,
some are biased...the roman catholic church angle in the last link is kind of interesting...history of the US/Mexico war showed the Church passing money to Mexico...hmmm...interesting times we live in...

Hispanics are trying to make this argument because they lost a war. I sometimes feel that we should have kept fighting and conquered all of Mexico. That way Mexico would be part of the USA and the illegal immigrant problem would be MUCH smaller. This would also have been good for Mexico because we would never have been as corrupt as some of their governments have been. Yeah, lets make Mexico the 51st state and help both the USA and Mexico out.

I don't think it matters how entitled they feel. They're taking it back through migration and birth rates. I read the weekly paper the other day and it was the same as usual. About four hispanic sounding names to any others. That, I'm sure, will tell you how entitled a person feels.

They can't grasp what losing a war means, or an agreement. In order for Americans to stop beating the crud out of their ancestors, their ancestors agreed to hand over parts of land now belonging to US because our ancestors beat the crud out of their ancestors. I guess if I were they, I wouldn't like the truth either. They should be happy we at least left them SOMEwhere to live!
They're just saying our country belongs to them because saying so is like a weapon for them to get us angry when we shouldn't be. We Americans already know what is our's, and that Mexicans can't fight, except if they belong in a gang, and attack an innocent person from behind their back. IF, you can call that fighting?

Where are you sources ???
Look into the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo signed by both sides to end the war, The U.S. Congress (unilaterally) deleted Article 10 That guarantees Full property Rights and land Grants , that were owned be preserved and respected of property owners of land covered by the treaty. It is Mexican Americans in the conquered land that owned it 1848 that the land was stolen from."Not Mexicans from Mexico."

Only ignorant hispanics think that way. As hard as it is to believe some hispanics actually like this country and want to live here.

1. Not all Latinos feel that way.
2. The ones that do probably have some kinship with the Native Americans.
3. Even the ones who might sday such things wouldn't if they were treated with a little more respect. Respect does a number of things -- like get people not to hate you.

The complaint is mostly from misinformed young immigrants . They realize how much better developed the four states are compared to Mexico and now claim they are entitled to them .
If the four states were as corrupt and disorganized as Mexico they wouldn't make the argument anymore .
However, pretty soon they will have their wish in California . ( Maybe we will have to put another border around California )

It is ignorance, some are not aware those states were purchased by the U.S., and in their desperation to justify their crimes aginst the citizens of the U.S., they make claim that it was stolen.
Just plain ignorance, so sad.

I agree with Jackbauer that none of U.S.A. was theirs. They can migrate on over to Spain where their ancestors came from.
