At the expense and inconvenience to ourselves?

2007-10-06 02:19:33 · 19 answers · asked by Anonymous

I heard a story of a man working at my workplace before I got there. He quit his job because 'they' were taking out too much money for his 5 illegitimate children. The sad thing was, they weren't his children.
Apparently, he was using someone else identity to get a job, turns out the persons identity he stole or bought was really behind on his child support!
Could this guy who is here illegally possibly sue the person he got the identity from for selling him a 'bad' identity? Or sue the guy who got credit from his contributions toward the child support?

Is he admitting he is illegally working in the US? He isn't happy about making $12/hour doing maintenance where I work so he wants to quit. I can't believe he's not happy! That's about $4.50 more an hour than I make! Poor illegal immigrants working jobs nobody else wants to do and for such low wages, it's all so sad : (

Good news ICE is finally waking up here. There's a lot of immigration-related raids lately, about 1300 illegals, mostly Mexicans, got raided and arrested in the last 2 weeks in California. ICE is raiding repeat and dangerous criminals first in line. California becomes slowly a better and safer place.

So here's my question. How does a raid exactly work? Are these people allowed to get their goodies, quick-sell house, cars, TV, etc, or do they just have 5min to pack their favorite stuff in a handbad and leave all the rest behind (which could be sold at auctions etc to pay millions back to the govt for eg raid and incarceration costs) ?
If the raid is a the workplace can they pass home?

My husband has had several strokes and can not work. The Social Security Dr has said he has brain damage from the strokes and should get his disabilty. He has tried to get disability and has been turned down. But some of the illegals just try once and get all the help they want. Someone like my husband that has worked since he was 15 can not get anyplace. It is so stupid.

I don't think it does, but seeing white people say "Be Legal or Get Out" Makes it seem a bit strange.

Whereas, A hispanic person like myself can say that and it be fine.

Can you adjudge this logic? It's an answer to a question I asked concerning the importance of industrial and post-industrial modernism in the Americas.

"Not too long ago, the European invaded North America, kidnapping Africans from their homelands forcing slavery by torture and murder, while conducting near genocide on the Native Americans and then pushing the Mexicans South and then created their own Mexican Border, yes you the white American are the illegal, the entire South was once Mexico until hundreds of thousands of Mexican paid the price of being slaughtered, from the North of Canada to the tip of South America for tens of thousands of years the entire continent was brown skin, get used to it."

today a young man knocked on our door, my husband answered, the young man gave him a card which read. I am from poland, i am an immigrant, i have no money & want to go to college, please, please give me some. MY husband shook his head & told him to go away. I am worried abot people living alone & the elderly, we live in derbyshire uk. My question is this. Is what he did legal? Has it happened to you? what would you have done? I thought the goverment helped immigrants with this sort of thing, unless of course there illegall's.

There are thousands who are trying to do it right and enter the country LEGALLY. Why then should the citizens of the U.S. have any sympathy or allow all of the ILLEGALS to stay? Are the lives of the those here illegaly more important than those trying to come in to the U.S. LEGALLY? This is NOT A RACE ISSUE, so don't try that argument. Most people against ILLEGAL immigration do not care where you came from.

A new, two nation poll from Zogby International shows that a large majority of Mexicans believes the southwest U.S. rightfully belongs to Mexico, and that they should be free to enter the U.S. without obtaining U.S. permission.

The largest majority in the poll, however, was found among the 68 percent of Americans who support use of the military to guard the border. The survey was conducted in the U.S. and in Mexico in May.

The poll was conducted for Americans for Immigration Control, Inc. "While most Americans want immigration reduced, most Mexicans think they don't even need permission to enter our country. This poll clearly shows there is less common ground for immigration negotiations between Mexico and the U.S. than leaders think. Support for a porous border and a loose migration policy occurs only on the Mexican side, not in the U.S." said Robert Goldsborough, AIC president.

The survey found a wide majority, 65 percent, of Americans oppose amnesty for illegal aliens, and a large majority, 58 percent, agree that the U.S. should "admit fewer immigrants each year."

I have no problem with legal immigration. If someone wants to come into the country LEGALLY, pay their taxes, and become a productive member of society I say welcome. However, I do have a problem with people moving into this country and expecting me to change to accomodate them. The link is for an article in the Chicago Sun-Times about a school that had to take JELLO off it's menu because someone was offended, and now has to change it's traditional holiday celebrations. When does it end?

Get offended or have a bad time if much of the evening transcurred in another language than English? The party is in USA. We are having a Christmas gathering with our family, part living in USA (all USA citizens in case you were wondering) and part coming from our old country. We would mostly be speaking our language. We want to invite a dear friend but are worried he might not have a good time because he might not understand all that we are saying. Some people would speak to him in English too but you can say 70% of the evening will happen in another language. Should we rather not invite him?

Last night I was watching television and saw that in 5 states so far there has been police raids on Illegal immigrants and there are more to come. An official stated that if the law makers can not create a law to get them out then we will just enforce the laws we already have because this is what our citizens want! HooRa!
Anyway I had not seen any raids in Texas so I was wondering has your state seen any of these raids and what do you think.

PS. the people against these raids were saying that it is not fair because these people are not criminals that they are just here to make a living, but then I thought to myself if they are here ILLEGALLY then that would make them a criminal, Next excuse please.
