Absolutely! We are a comparatively small country and we simply do not have the space. Our greenbelt is slowing being used for more and more building projects.
If people wish to emigrate to western Europe, they should try for less overcrowded countries than ours. Or maybe they should go to the USA. Lots of vast spaces there.
However, we do have to be tough on those who enter the country illegally - no messing about.

I think immigration should be put on hold whilst the Government put some schemes into place to offer funding and help for school leavers, unemployed and unskilled people to train up to fill the "skills shortages" we allegedly have (its currently very hard to get help to retrain, I speak frim experience with my partner).

They should also do something to clamp down on the benefit scroungers and make them take work even if its low paid.

Then when the number of unemployed has been halved they can start letting people in again to take up the jobs that are left over. Instead of the situation now whereby people are coming in to take jobs that local people could do if only given a chance to get the necessary skills.

It is an excellent idea. It also has to run hand in hand with a massive crackdown on illegals being deported and armed, properly controlled borders.
It should be put in place for 10 years not 5 and we should stop ALL immigrants coming in for that time until we had an accurate figure for how many people we have got living in the UK.

the reality is the BNP make lots sense, there immigration coverage is to the factor and provides a fashion forward so does their coverage on Europe, regulation and order , environment, etc. those that rag the BNP do regularly because of the fact of tribal loyalty to their very own political doctrines. For me its the BNP yet whilst the BNP do not stand in my area i will vote UKIP. in my opinion UKIP will overwhelm under stress and water down its rules in the event that they ever set up a ability base however the BNP won't compromise its perspectives so does not ought to water its polices down and that to my strategies is the version. i think of ways Nick Griffin stood as much as Lord Ha Ha and the hand picked aim industry of 'question Time' not in basic terms proved to me that the BNP recommend it, 'Nick' proved to lots greater ability electorate that we've a guy of high quality to steer us. Brilliant, if it could be implemented. Someone somewhere would really have to put some thought into making it happen!

It would give the country a respite and give us time to sort a few things out with regards to illegals and benefits and regulations etc. It would benefit the people already here as well by maybe removing some of the hostility we feel towards them because of the uncontrolled immigration we are having now. Its like a runaway train and we will all crash at some time soon!

Sounds like a good idea.

I have no problem with skilled migrants coming here or people in dire situations at home that need refuge. I have a problem with the flood of people coming in and pretending to be skilled tradesmen, bringing down the level of pay all over different industries and forfeiting rights our workers have fought for for years.

We have other problems as a country we need to sort out before we look to being the good Samaritan.

I see nothing wrong with people of British origin such as Americans of English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish descent moving here and becomming citizens. People from European Union I think should be let in if there is really a need for them or if they are planning to start a business.

We should ban third worlders from comming here completely, except as Tourists
