Is he admitting he is illegally working in the US? He isn't happy about making $12/hour doing maintenance where I work so he wants to quit. I can't believe he's not happy! That's about $4.50 more an hour than I make! Poor illegal immigrants working jobs nobody else wants to do and for such low wages, it's all so sad : (

That ranks right up there with the guys welding steel bridges making prevailing wages for federal jobs that aren't even qualified to be doing the work! they haven't taken or passed any welding tests to prove they are trained to do the work. best thing is to keep a cool head. if u r event hinking of quitting, u dont have to answer him anymore. it means he cannot use the "you're fired!"factor to scare u into doing a better job. my advice, go see him. tell him u had enough of everything and u quit. dont take his money. dont threaten him(with his illegal activites), just leave and forget everything. work life is hard and being reprimanded like that all the time is just detrimental to your health. you could actually sue him for it. if he threatens to sue you(due to a signed contract for employment) try reading between the lines because there may be a clause stating theat the employer must provide an adequate place of work for you. if he is in breach, then at least both parites will be at fault. nevertheless. u will win this case. dont worry about it. just tell it to his face and dont punch or hit him. just leave. its better off this way. if he threatens to come to ur house, call the police. i wish u all the best buddy. hope u'll find a better job soon enough.

$12/hr. would be hard to survive on but...what happened to the pennies a day out in the fields? I loooove prevailing wage shifts but in my line of work, I can say that I have never worked with an illegal nor would they be eligible for consideration. Judging by what I am hearing from a lot of Americans...illegals are doing jobs that they very much want to and are willing to do...they just are no longer available to them.

Dude!!!! Rather than writing on Answers.com why don't you do something about it??? Report his a*** Let INS take care of him. And he is earning more than you? I would be preparing to destroy that company for paying an illegal more than me. I think it is great that people are screaming about illegals but how much is anyone really doing? I know every opportunity I get I'm on the phone with SSA, INS, and IRS. My aunt and I just busted another one. We can't wait for the fireworks.

He is one of those people who think that when they come to America all of their problems will be gone. $12 an hour is even alot for an American Citizen. He seems like one of those people you want to call border control on and send them back to Mexico. I am not racist towards Mexicans. It's the fact that they come into our country and are not paying taxes. They are the people that make you have to click #1 on a phone to get English. I am sick of immigrants and I want them out.
