No, the U.S should not allow open immigration. Our country could not sustain it. I have difficulty understanding how citizens here want allow anyone and everyone to live here and have no plan how to deal with it. Our country has not succeeded by luck. I would love to see other countries allow their people to be educated and free. They would more likely want to stay help their own country grow.

well are you up to going through what every one else does that has open immigration oh wait there isn't any one why should the U.S. be expected to by everyone who doesn't do it themselves
or on a more personal basis would you have open door policies at your house for anyone wanting to go in.

The US should allow more immigration that is legal. The problem is the US welcomes illegal labor and then complains about it. About 1year ago we saw a man walking around my apartment complex and my mom asked him are you okay. He was walking around aimlessly. He then said I am trying to find this apartment and he handed her a piece of paper. Well it turns out the man was crossing the border illegally and the people who were supposed to meet him never did because he got picked up by immigration. They just brought him all the way to Houston and let him go. They gave him a paper that gave him permission to stay till his day in court and that was it. Why would they let him do that if they really were against illegal immigration. They could have sent him right back at the border but they transported him all the way to Houston and just gave him a court case. The man spoke not one word of english and just had a piece of paper and the papers from the INS and then a small book bag that he had traveled with.

No.

The days when the USA needed lots of poorly educated, untrained people is long gone. We need people with at least a high school education and preferably a college education if we wish to remain #1 in science and industry.

We do not need more maids, burger flippers and lawnmower men.

Not unless we want to:

get rid of the check for serious contagious diseases;
get rid of the check for a felony criminal record;
get rid of the check for minimal job skills (I mean MINIMAL);

all of which we presently do.

No, thank you.

That's what is already being skipped by illegal aliens.

No country in the world has an open immigration policy.

We have NO quotas. Anyone that passes the basic tests, gets in.

Why do they skip such tests? Is anyone unclear about why?

Read my post from the beginning to see why.

Just look at chuppa's answer above mine. Do you think we really need people like this in the United States. My answer is no and deport everyone that is here illegally

No way. My grandparents came here with nothing and built their lives legally. Everyone else should do the same. Honestly the majority of debates are only dealing with one minority of people and we know who they are.

Nope.
We'd get too many foreign felons coming in. Our prisons are already crowded enough without adding MORE bad guys.

NO WAY !!! open immigration would only fuel terrorist who want to sneak into our country to harm us, it would give them free excess into a open border, mainly Mexico !it is common knowledge that the Mexican government and their law enforcement are corrupt and weak !!
