A passport doesn't give you citizenship.. If you don't have a green card or have any papers for Naturalization, chances are you're illegal.. However, if you've been living in the USA for an uninterrupted period of 5 years, you may apply for naturalization.

Why haven't you asked your parents? They are the only ones, aside from immigration who know the truth.
Unless they applied for citizenship for you also and you have a green card you are still an illegal alien. You were born outside the US so that makes you and illegal immigrant unless you were granted a green card status or became a US citizen.
All passports expire after 5 years. There are some exceptions such as students and a couple of others but they must be applied for well in advance of the expiration.
It's best to find out now instead of finding out later and taking a chance of being deported.
Best of luck to you!!!

If after 7 years you still have the same life, who's fault is that. It couldn't be that you can't get off your---- and find the answers for yourself. Read some of the answers of others as to what you can do and get start doing it. Adding up the time puts you at 17 years old, start getting your life together, and planning your future. Clear up the problem of the passport before you run into bigger problems when you don't need them. Good Luck-it's up to you to resolve, not your parents.

You were here legally but now illegally. All you all had to do was upgrade your pastport. Ten years passports are the norm. The longer you all wait, the worse it gets. Just because you hear all the fuss over illegal immigration does not mean you will be denied your due.

if i were you i would ask your parents if they did the things to become legal us citizens or if they are hear on a green card

if they became legal citizens than you would be legal because as a minor you would of become a legal citizen when your parents did (i think that is how it works)

if they did not and there green card is still good than you are legal as well

if the green card and passport are expired than you are illegal

i am not an expert but i am 75% sure that this is how it works
i would sugest finding out for sure because when you turn 18 you are no longer a minor and you might have to do something to become a citezen if your parents are not
good luck

You have violated the law and are illegal.
Look at your passport. The requirements are listed there.
If you did not follow those requirements, you ARE in violation of the law.
That does not mean you are going to jail or anything like that, but you should take immediate steps to contact your nearest embassy and correct the problem. It is a common problem so steps to correct the situation have already been established.

If your parents are here legally, then you are most likely legal, however, I would definitely seek a lawyer's help with this as your status may change when you turn 18. You are probably listed as a resident alien. My husband was one for about 18 years before he bacame a citizen.

It sounds like you and your family are criminal illegal aliens. Not legal immigrants or illegal immigrant.

Get on your parents' case to get legal or all could be deported when found out.

unless you have kept your visas current and your passport updated then you are indeed here illegally. I dont know of any visa that lasts seven years although I could be in error. Unless they have applied for and recieved a permenant residency, your status is questionable.

You are legal. An expired passport doesn't mean you are illegal.
