but the University instead gives those illegal immigrants scholarships from 'private funds already in the University coffers', how is that not giving the benefit? And when they say legal students won't be hurt because it is given based on need, what about the 200 students who needed it 'just less' than those illegally here. Aren't they hurt?

A former federal immigration employee and his sister pleaded guilty Friday, agreeing to spend about three years in prison and pay $1.5 million in fines for conspiring to charge people up to $16,000 to obtain green cards through sham marriages.

In separate proceedings, Philip Browne, 41, a former district adjudication officer with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and his tearful sister, Beverly Mozer-Browne, 50, entered their pleas to the single conspiracy charge under a deal in Manhattan's U.S. District Court.

They admitted their roles in a scheme that prosecutors said resulted in the issuance of hundreds of green cards for customers of Mozer-Browne's Queens business between 2001 and 2006.Federal authorities said Mozer-Browne was the ringleader, accepting between $8,000 and $16,000 from people who wanted to get green cards, resulting in a stream of income that exceeded $1 million.

In return for the fees, Mozer-Browne and her workers prepared documents containing phony facts so the customers could obtain marriage licenses and other documents. American citizens were paid to participate in phony marriages with the customers, prosecutors said.

The fraudulent business was discovered after an immigrant who was solicited as a customer wrote to the FBI. The federal government is now helping the informant, who testified at a recent trial, to obtain a green card.

The prosecution has resulted in one jury conviction and 26 guilty pleas. One woman still awaits trial.

During his plea, Browne said he became involved in the scheme when his sister asked him to approve permanent residency applications submitted by her customers.

Ok. My name is Zain. I moved to the United States from Pakistan when I was 10 months old. So, I grew up in America. Since I'm 13 years old now, I moved to the U.S. in 1994 and I have been living here ever since(2007), I'm in the naturalization process right now, I will be a U.S. Citizen in 2009(when I'm like 15 1/2 yrs old). Does it matter if I wasn't born here because I grew up here and was raised here all of my life except for 10 months, I even said my first words here like "mommy" and "daddy". So my point is: I grew up here, said my first words here, lived here basically all my life, so do I deserve to be called and considered an American?

when we finally allow all illegal immigrants in this country and guess what the cost of living gets higher and the payrate lowers were the h-ll are the citizens going to live and work. are we ever going to run out of space. how much land space is left for living. are we going to keep building up. you know have housing that is as high up as the twin towers. and allow total strangers to live in our homes so that we can make the bills. I just donot get it the few immigrants that i know live in crowded apartments or houses were a whole family shares one room. are we the citizens for umteen generations going to end up living that way. how about like china are we going to live like them walmart workers that have to live in the open rooms, on nasty bunkbeds and share showers and cooking. and still pay the bills and not make enough to go anywhere with your life..

All I asked was why Mexico will maintain the status quo as the illegals and immigrants send money home to Mexico. Not a racist question by any means, but reality. Something that others do NOT want to address.

This is a four part question: Refering to the incident in Arizona right now.

1:What do you think? Should she have been deported? ( she did have exellent grades)

2:How does this effect those who say illegals are uneducated drains to society?

3: What does this do to the statement: They only do jobs Americans do not want. (if she's in college she's not after a ditch digging job)

4:Should the college be held liable like an employer?

I know where I stand but I want to know where you do.
Anyone who makes a statement in regards to my question or spelling or punctuation is openly admitting to the public that they are an idiot.
Oh and please keep answer semi-short and to the point in other words don't write a book.

I got this off of an immigration website:

"I’m a 16 year old teenager and I’m in 11th grade in high school. I have a GPA of 4.0, my grades have always been extremely good. I’ve lived here my whole life. My parents brought me to this country when I was only 2 years old. It’s not my fault that they brought me, I didn’t even know what was going on. Next year I will be graduating high school, and I want to go to college. There’s only one problem: I don’t have my papers. I’m illegal in this country. My question is this. Why is it that when I’m about to begin contributing to this country, the United States isn’t going to let me. Isn’t that absurd to you? What solution do you propose for me, and the thousands of students in my situation? It is not our fault that our parents brought us here. I love this country and could not imagine my life in anywhere else. I want to stay here and contribute to this great country. Are you going to let me?"

At a time when are wages are stagnating and our middle class is being forced to compete with the lowest-cost labor in the world, what does president Bush want to do-aided and abetted by congress? He wants to support illegal immigration. The guest worker program proposed by president Bush was supported by po-amnesty organizations like the National Council of La Raza and LULAC, the league of United Latin American Citizens. While these groups claim to be fighting for the rights of illegal immigrants in the name of humanitarianism, they in fact funded by major corporations that want continued acces to cheap labor. These include, Levi Strauss, Home Depot, Walmart, and many others. Other groups lobbying for amnesty include the Mexican American Legal Political Association, the Ford Foundation ( Which sponsers and funds many of these groups), and the ACLU. So basically Bush doesn't care about the people, Mexican or Americans, its all about big bussiness. He's a puppet.

I think that the anger at illegals and the talk about what to do them comes from the fact that they are a poor and powerless group that are often clearly different. That is a prescription for persecution and scapegoating.

Many of the Americans who have such strong hatred of illegals are Also powerless. They don't have any influence in the things affecting their lives and that is scaring them in this unstable economy. Most often they don't really understand how the world situation affects their lives.

So they take it out on illegals who can't fight back and who are convienent.
