Legal immigrants that learned English, got an education, did not suck services from the government teat and became Americans without hyphenating their names, such as Italian-American, etc.

The ones who created the ideas behind our unique government (ie, the original batch of European-Americans who created the ideological basis for America today).
Other races have been accessories, but had no real hand in the most important aspects.

I will just come on out and point out the Elephant in the middle of the room: White Europeans made America, and the fate of America is tied to the Fate of those people and no others.

USA is a diverse country, her unique strength and power comes from diversity. It is illogical for any particular race to claim that credit , because africans, europeans, asians and all other nationalities of this great nation are contributor for what USA today and in the future.

I would have to say all the veterans that ever fought for this country.Also anyone who has made a positive difference,Entrepreneurs, underpaid workers (such as immigrants and women), inventors, and slaves.there are way to many to list !
