Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Thursday arrested 19 people who work for Cloudburst Lawn and Sprinkler.
ICE spokesman Tim Counts said all 19 people were arrested on "administrative immigrations violations." That means they are accused of being in the country illegally.

Counts said there were no criminal arrests.

He said the 19 people who were arrested were being processed in Grand Island and would be detained in the Phelps County Jail.

He said preliminary indications are that 11 of the people arrested are from Mexico, six are from El Salvador and two are from Guatemala.

He said some people may decide to waive their right to a hearing and agree to be deported.

"Others may say they've got a right to be in the country and want a hearing," Counts said.

He said the hearing would be in the administrative immigration court in Omaha. Although the court is in Omaha, the judge in Chicago may hear the case through a video teleconference.

Counts said the administrative immigration hearing would be in "several weeks or one or two months."

He said he has no way of predicting hearing dates because the administrative immigration court resides in a different part of the federal government and sets its own schedule.

"ICE is part of the Department of Homeland Security and the administrative immigration court is part of the Department of Justice," Counts said.

He said the ICE arrests were part of an investigation, but he declined to say why Cloudburst Lawn and Sprinkler was chosen as the site for an immigration enforcement action.

The Independent was unable to contact the owner of Cloudburst on Thursday.

In December 2006, ICE conducted a raid at the Swift plant in Grand Island, arresting 261 people who it believed were in the country illegal. Only one of those arrests was criminal, with the remaining 260 arrests administrative violations.

ICE arrested four more Swift employees this past July.

Ku Klux Klan Advances

According to a report by the Associated Press, the Ku Klux Klan distributed leaflets in Virginia warning "Mexico is invading the United States and soon will demand we cede the southwestern states to their control, they already wave the flag of Mexico in our faces! They are not here to assimilate, they are here to form their own nation. And unless we get busy right NOW they will succeed!"

Clearly, white supremacist groups are using the anxiety over immigration and confusion about the undocumented to advance their own reprehensible and racist agenda. What is not as clearly known is that the primary target of the white supremacists is not Joe Public, but ICE and CBP officials. What the racists really seek is training and intelligence from those within law enforcement who can be duped into assisting them (source: Stratfor, a paysite). Thankfully, FBI and others who watch over the white supremacists are on to this, but the numbers are getting so large that some may slip thru the FBI cracks.

I'd like to hear one of them come out and say that the reason that there are so many poor Mexicans migrating here is political corruption in Mexico. I'd like to hear just one of them say that if the Mexican government doesn't get their act together we might just have to engage in a little nation building close to home. The Mexican government is corrupt. The Mexican elite are greedy. They have no reason to do anything, because they know the US will take care of their poor. Well I want to hear a political candidate come out and tell it like it is. Wouldn't you?

We've been thinking about moving, first we thought about the southern states, but recently we decide we wanted to move to Australia. There are my parents and five children. Two, soon to be three, of my sister are over eighteen, will my sisters be adults in Australia? I don't know if eighteen is the legal "Adult" age over there as well. And then we have our six cats, three dogs, one guinea pig and a rabbit. Is it possible to move all of them to Australia with us? And if it is, will they be held in quarantine? And for how long?
Also I've heard that you have to have a profession that is in need, dose that apply to all adults? Because my sisters are students and don't have training in really anything. My moms a stay at home mom and hasn’t worked in the last twenty years. My Dads profession is knife making, but right now he drives a truck. He can also do a lot of other things including Electrical wiring, furnace/AC installation, the operation and maintenance of farm and domestic equipment.

Why shouldn't this Mexican re-conquest just be "a natural part of history", too?

After all that's the excuse that White people give for killing American Indians and violating Iraq's borders.

Are you saying there should be different rules for different races? Only Whites can conquer territory?

2007-09-06 14:08:26 · 9 answers · asked by Anonymous

We cannot deport 12 million illegals. Our economy would collapse and we would rip apart many families that have been an asset to our country. Therefore:

Give all illegals 3 months to turn themselves into a police station of their choice. They will be arrested and if they plead guilty they will be given 2 years probation and must carry a national I.D. card the rest of their lives (assuming they have no criminial convictions). Employers found employing illegals after that will be fined $20,000 per employee.

This is not amnesty because the illegals will be found guilty or deported. They will serve their sentence (probation). Those who have been waiting patiently and legally - no its not fair to them. But maybe getting control of the situation would help them finally get to enter the country legally.

It failed miserably in 1986, all it did was promote more illegal immigration. If that were to happen again then we will have another 20million wanting amnesty in another 20 years. Once again I am Hispanic (not mexican) so im not racist.

…to their own political agenda of making it a racist issue when it’s all about the terrorists?

That is what the whole illegal immigrant issue is over. It's not all about Mexicans. The Democrats have managed to spin it into a racial issue and so many people have fallen for it…

Have we all forgotten?

2007-09-06 13:20:30 · 12 answers · asked by Anonymous

Here it is in a simpler way.
20,000,000. illegals in USA. = 20,000,000. legals after legalization= about 10,000,000. job vacancies= 20,000,000. MORE ILLEGALS. Go to "Here it is" and start over........ Get the point?

2007-09-06 13:06:24 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous

I know you don't want illegals working in USA, but what is your solution to get those jobs filled. No legal person want to work at the fields or wash dishes for the minimum wage, are you ready to fill their shoes or to pay $10 dollars for 1 lbs of tomato? If USA makes all those illegal legal, they will leave the fields and all those minimum paid jobs as soon as the next day….. And again we'll needs more illegals, and what you do then?

seems like it...since today the mexican trucks can go in and out of our border...why would any US companies want to pay our truck drivers any more??? since they can hire the mexican for cheaper wages? and they happen to be able to go in and out of our border legally.
