Government Photo ID Canada?

Ok, so i'm trying to get Cable and Internet, and the cable company needs to see Government issued ID, thing is I'm an international student and I only have a passport from my country of origin? so i gave them my passport number and for some reason that doesnt work, as in they only check Canadian passports? what do i do now?

Get a drivers license. Stop asking the same question over and over.

go get a local id card. you can get that with just your passport and student visa.
