I was in a Lowes building supply store the other day and for every English sign, no matter how big or small there is an accompanying Spanish language sign...Now I know how the Canadians feel when everything up there is in two languages, English and French...What is up with our traiterous government leaders????

If I ever develop high blood pressure, I'm going to sue the government, because pressing '1' will be the cause of it. I absolutely loathe it. Can't my bank cards just tag me as an English speaking customer, or just stop catering to these aliens?

Try living in Chicago where every nation in the world is represented by immigrants that don't speak ANY English. I managed an Auto Zone and atleast once a day had to have a customer draw on paper what the part looked like. We finally put together a book with parts pictures of the most common items.

The only ones that don't care that we have to "Press 1 for English" are the loony-tunes that are so PC it's sickening, and the illegals from Mexico and all points south.

As a matter of fact, I'd bet dollars to pesos (pun intended) that the illegals in the States would rather WE had to "Press 2 for English".....

WOW, you spoiled American! That's why allt he countries don't like American's. Cuz you're spoiled as hell. Every other country has their signs in multiple languages, cuz they respect their neighbors, but you Americans have been isolated from the rest of the world thinking you're the best and all for so many years. Guess what? Time will come when you'll beg the world to accept you in!! Just watch!

p.s. you're so lazy to press a freaking "1", I hope you don't loose your weight trying to press that so much!

It is ridiculous that we have to press 1 for English and we can only blame our government and the almighty dollar. If you notice it is not only at Lowe's but all big commercial companies. Everyone is jumping on the "speak Spanish" bandwagon so they won't lose money to their competitors and it is disgraceful. What incentive do immigrants (illegal or not) have to learn English when everything is given to them in Spanish. If the trend continues In a few years (in the southwest at least) if you are not bi-lingual I think that you will be at a big disadvantage in the business world and it shouldn't be that way.

What really sucks, is that I press one for English, and I still got someone who tried to speak Spanish to me!!! Took me 4 tries until she decided to speak English.

most other countries are fluent in more than one language. i think its sad that americans are pompous enough to feel that english should be the only language used in this country. we all came here from different countries as well. unless of course your native american. but i dont see any signs translating things into apachee or cherochee (sp?).
seeing a sign in 2 languages has never bothered me.

I wish that would stop. Not only do the extra words clutter up signs and make them confusing but they also keep large numbers of people from learning English and assimilating. What incentive is there for these people to learn another language when they can get all they need to know in their own?

Is that so bad really? Why do other languages scrare you so much. Most countries in the world have signs in multiple languages. Why can't you deal with that?

You can complain when you have to press '2' to get English.
