I'm a native Southwesterner, and we immigrants HAVE taken over the Southwest. We did it generations ago. Did you know New Mexico is the first state in the Union to mandate all official documents be published in BOTH English and Spanish? Do you know that's just fine with ALL New Mexicans? And do you know you are perfectly welcome to come visit, enjoy our exquisite scenery and outstanding climate and our fantastic cusine? Do you wanna ski? Come to Ruidoso. Do you wanna sit in the sun? Come to Las Cruces. Do you wanna fish? Come to the Rio Grande. Do you wanna see some of the most fantastic fall foliage anywhere? Join the Aspencade, the biggest motorcycle rally in the world every autumn. Wanna hunt? You can hunt wildebeest in New Mexico. Want a good education? We have colleges and universities the equal of the world's finest.
In short, there are many good reasons we call our state "The Land of Enchantment" Come visit - and don't worry about the takeover - it's a done deal, and the entire Southwest is better off for it. Until we see you again - Hasta la Vista, baby!

Yes, but I think it is a marginal and marginalized group. I think the resentment goes a lot deeper, though. I also know that a lot of this traces back to what the pre-Fox government put in its kids' text books in Mexico. If you teach incorrect history, the kids will believe it is true.

Now, a lot of those kids, and their kids, are here.

If you asked any undocumented immigrant about that theory, they would laugh in your face. I can not believe that America's would fall for that BS, of a High School and University students group Internet site. But you fell for it , because you want to believe that it is true. ITS NOT, But the neo cons are setting up their climate of fear. It fits their agenda.

Yes. Why do you think the Human Tidal Wave of Illegal Aliens continues at this moment?
BTW--Illegal Aliens are NOT "Immigrants."

Don't forget The Mecha Manifesto of 1969. Very insightful on their motives.

I think it is funny, because we have in Mexico enough problems to solve, why to plan new political problems? Sorry, but we don't have George Bush as president...

Even if USA would give them up, it would implicate the political and administrative reorganization of that areas, (what a job!). In addition, the Mexican-Americans and we are very different, they are a mix between USA and Mexico, if we would try to integrate them in our culture, it would take 2 generations.

The phrase, whenever you find a Mexican, you find Mexico, it considers that each Mexican is an ambassador of our country. But of course, everybody can "discover" hide messages include in the sun...

I believe some nut cases think that, but they would have fits if the US treated them as they are treated in Mexico. They came to the US to escape the Mexican system of "justice" but seek to reimpose that on everyone in that part of the US. The problem with their thinking is that none of their ancestors lived in the area they want to "reconquer." That is all from an ancient Aztec Myth & the Aztec never controlled territory this far North.

It is not a theory. Listen to mexico's president whose statement "wherever you find a mexican, you find mexico" tells all. Racist groups Mecha and La Raza have been spouting the same crap for years.

I think this is a bunch of garbage, all those people want to do is work. Their country has a corrupt and unfair system so they come to the US instead. Wouldn't you?
